⚙️ Description
My goal was to recreate an X3 Mayhem like experience while keeping it vanilla.
This collection saves time for new and returning players.

All included mods are fully compatible and focused on QoL improvements.
Jump in fast, start hustling, and build your empire without wasting hours on scanning, blueprint hunting, or research in a reactive and responsive universe.

You probably have no idea how many hidden penalties/mechanics Egosoft has added to X4.
My collection focuses on improving these "problems".



🧩 I use all mods in this collection, but skip any you don’t like.
Some mods linked to Nexus are also available on Steam, but the Steam versions aren’t up to date. That’s why they’re linked to Nexus instead.


⚠️ This collection isn’t compatible with VRO or other major overhauls.
⚠️ To avoid compatibility issues, stop X4 Steam updates.

Recycle Ships and Stations [www.nexusmods.com]
Allows players to scrap ships/stations for 75-95% of their original resources and a chance at blueprints, and to recycle stations for 50-75% of their value.

UI Boarding operation notifications [www.nexusmods.com]
Adds progress notifications of boarding operations during the Infiltration and Assault phases.

Friendly fire tweaks [www.nexusmods.com]
Makes friendly fire more forgiving, especially when shooting near stations.

Equipment tooltips [www.nexusmods.com]
Baffling that this isn’t in the base game. Adds tooltips to ship equipment slots with relevant stats for comparision.

UI Accept mission for later [www.nexusmods.com]
Doesn’t replace your current mission when accepting a new one.

Sector list [www.nexusmods.com]
Adds a map list of known sectors with resources and buy/sell offers. Sorting helps pick sites for factories, mining, or trade.

Trade analytics, Station behaviour presets, and other QoL changes.

NPC reactions [www.nexusmods.com]
Conversation rumours. Bridge crew. Bar patrons. NPC SOS via video comms. NPC constructors request your build jobs. NPC taxis. Bank loans.

Adds an option to display the ship that initiated the conversation on the map.

Crew Skill Leveling Revised [www.nexusmods.com]
Balanced leveling overhaul: buffed piloting, adjusted XP caps per action, viable ship mining/trading, nerfed station trade/repairs, refined boarding/exploration, new morale system. Delivers smooth, exploit-free progression.

No Player Shipyard Penalty [www.nexusmods.com]
Lessens or removes the 70% penalty on player shipyard sale prices. Removes the un-immersive gameplay loop where the player is incentivized to close their shipyard to the public and then sell manually for more money.

Cleaner HUD [www.nexusmods.com]
Removes rectangles around objects that clutter UI.
Auto-hides weapon panels when target is not selected.

Custom tabs [www.nexusmods.com]
Adds up to nine new tabs to property owned menu allowing to organize player's assets. Allows to hide vanilla tabs.
Each player asset (station, fleet, ship) can be freely moved to one of the new tabs via context menu option.

Easy Trade Subscriptions [www.nexusmods.com]
Trade Subscription price changed to 200,000 credits.
Reputation requirement has been removed.

Getting Paid [www.nexusmods.com]
Adds more depth and challenge to crew management by introducing ongoing salary demands for managers, captains, pilots, and ship crews. Failure to pay wages over time can lead to resignations among the crew.

📁 FULL OVERHAUL

✅ Must have - Compatible with the Diplomacy Update (v8.00):
Collection of custom scripts that aim to reduce the static nature of X4 Foundations and expand the sandbox experience.

I personally use and highly recommend DeadAir scripts (+ DA Eco) for a dynamic universe.

Unfortunately, the original creator has retired from modding.

However, another user, Sleaker, has forked the DA scripts, updated them, and removed the new wares and buildings to keep everything vanilla.
