Everything* works together, even though the game doesn't say so.


*In the Various Mod Components (the quote), "Altitude Training" promotion (from Mt. Kilimanjaro) has been changed so that it allows the unit to cross mountain tiles (will still take attrition dmg). The other buffs have been removed. Mounted, siege or armor units won't get this (end of the quote).

To avoid conflict with the Workable Mountains mod, change the line
<Impassable>true</Impassable>
to
<Impassable>false</Impassable>
in the WorkableMountains.XML


I play on a huge map with 14 AIs and 41 city-states, normal speed. Raging barbarians are a must.

Also I recommend to increase AI bonuses in Faster AI Research mod. File EraBuildingsYield.XML, new data for each age - 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 20, 15, 15.

This setup gives me the opportunity to experience each era fully, with meaningful wars and quite fast production. I play on Emperor difficulty because I enjoy building wonders with a maximum of 4-7 cities and I hate when the AI spams units endlessly. With these settings, I’ve found some harmony.

P.S. I like immersion, so Various Mod Components needs some changes. In the CustomModOptions.xml, change "DIPLOMACY_STFU" to have Value="0", and in the DiplomacyNoPointlessDialogs.xml, comment out or delete everything after the first line. These actions will restore communications with the AIs when they comment on the player's deeds. Thanks to the mod creator, zai4z, for the instructions.
