I really like the aesthetics of Nightmare Mod but I just wanted to play L4D2 as L4D2, so this collection is basically just vanilla L4D2 with the aesthetics of Nightmare Mod as well as toning down some aspects that casual players might not enjoy (basically just the darkness). You may also mix and match up with your own personal preferences to fit your needs (usually I leave these on private because I'm really picky about minor stuff).

You may notice that there are no mods for the main menu. That's because I decided to separate them in another collection as I am unsure of which ones would fit better, unless someone makes a Nightmare HUD for vanilla gameplay (I lack the knowledge sorry) there won't really be a perfect UI for this collection. If you want my suggestion Vanilla+ Main Menu (along with the required items) and avHud 2.1.1 are my preference. Along with the UI, the collection also includes mods that you may replace with this collection such as survivors or weapons and also includes more unique gameplay scripts.

If you can handle darkness, I'd highly recommend using this with either S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Skyboxes or Starry Skies / Melancholic CCs or Liminal Skyboxes . I know there are a lot of choices but they are all really good in my opinion.

Kind of an outdated collection and I'm too lazy to update it, I'd recommend you check out Nightmare:Reimagined since that's what I'm using anyways. I'll update it someday when I feel like it.
