anyway, I included it in the list, workshop entry should update soon

i see i did test it since i couldnt get it to do it i found they would shoot at the base game ai ship that got near but the raiders helli that i got to fly over in a creative test to not mess up my other game they wouldnt shoot at using hevy auto cannon

That is weird though, because I have specifically included the Bungeling raiders compatibility. I will have to look at it later, maybe the authors of that addon have changed something.

love the mod and how you tweeked it to have cost to get gunners and loaders in the sence of the other mod but it dosnt work with Bungeling Raiders (Hostile A.I. Encounters) mod wich i found adds more reason to want ai gunners to assist you over the base games pve stile were you dont encounter anything unless activly going for a fight would love to see if even posible this work with that mod as they dont detect the ai from the mod as hostile though i dont know how there ai are set up in what the gunners can detect

Can they shoot at player-controlled vehicles? I want to have a battle between a bomber and a fighter. Both planes will be piloted by players.

when the gunner enter the seat the gun keep swinging left and right, is there a way to stop that.

yep
you can set a velocity pivot underneath and activate its rotation when the robotic is at its limit or close to it

not sure if its me, but my AI didnt fire a single shot, even though they were active and set to attack everything AND i was flying above an ai controlled base with a jet on my tail

Could you make a Common Mistakes spot somewhere because one second these guys worked fine and the next they didnt do anything, i named everything correctly the thing is set to reset and trigger is push but they wouldnt open fire on AI, and just yesterday they worked fine on the same ship i used

I do notice an issue where the gunners will open fire on infantry units that are dead, and will not change target unless you bring them into closer range.

AI pilots and captains have been in the game for a long time;
AI gunners were added with weapons dlc;
Recently infantry sentries were added, those require separate logic and are not included in this addon.

That's great! I imagine that infantry aren't treated as vehicles and also they don't have radar signatures like in the past, so I guess it's harder to implement a targeting solution. It would be cool to be able to give recruited gunners manual firearms for when they have to dismount your vehicle as well. Good work and take care.

I'm still figuring out the new infantry logic
I already see the potential to make these gunners also shoot zombies, if their logic also applies to vehicle mounted weapons

no, those are different tags
vehicles don't have any when spawned from workbench, you have to spawn them with missions
press escape, go to addon editor, create a mission location near you, add a vehicle and type one of those tags

These ones no, unfourtunately
There is a workaround for this, spawn some vehicles with tags "type=wep_land" or "type=wep_heli"
They will target those according to the set mode even if a player is using them

yes
because of how devs programmed them, they will only fire when inside ~half of the maximum range of their weapon
so, machine guns will begin firing at ~250m, LAC ~400 and so on

Hello, im using the AI on the Valkyrie which is a modified OPV Condor with guns, i modified the guns to be AI friendly but when i turn on fire at will the AI tries to shoot parts of my ship and wont target AI ships cus they are too busy trying to shoot parts of the ship they are part of. please help

I am currently working on an arena addon, and it will have plenty of options for land enemies to fight!
But I might add enemy gunners sometime after to this addon, too.
