MB-29 "Pocket Fortress"

Introduction
Welcome, Commander, to your very own Pocket Fortress!
Strap in, fly high, and deliver strategic "greetings" from above—now in fun-size! The MB-29 is a downscaled (~2/3 scale) replica of the mighty B-29 Superfortress. It’s small, but don’t let its size fool you—this bird packs a punch. Every crewmember is fully equipped for their mission, and the MB-29 is ready for yours. Fly safe, bomb wisely, and try not to bounce the landing!

Specifications
  • Scale: ~2/3 of a B-29
  • Max Altitude: 6,000m
  • Max Speed: 211 knots (cruise at ~170-190 knots)
  • Range: 750km @ 5,000m w/ full fuel & bomb load
  • Payload: 36 munitions (dropped in 3 rows)
  • Crew: 1–5 (Pilot, Engineer, Bombardier, Main Turret Gunner, Tail Gunner)
  • Turrets: 4x remote (single station), 1x tail (independent)
  • Power: APU for battery recharge or generator load reduction
  • Lighting:
    - Cockpit/Instrument (engineer's panel)
    - Exterior/Nav (panel right of pilot's seat)
  • Entry Points: Nose wheel hatch OR aft entrance
  • Survival Gear (rear entrance):
Parachute, Flashlight, First Aid Kit, Oxygen Mask

How to Use
  1. Start Engines (Engineer’s Station):
Flip 4x magnetos and 4x cowl flaps. Hold all 4 starters until engines idle.
  2. Taxi & Takeoff (Pilot):
Release parking brake. Taxi to runway (requires a LOT of runway to takeoff). Throttle to 100%, no pitch input needed.
  3. In the Air:
Gear up, throttle back to cruise (0.7). Set waypoint/altitude, enable autopilot. Exterior lights optional.
  4. Combat:
Aft gunner station controls 4 turrets. Tail turret is separate.
  5. Bombing:
Move to Bombardier seat. Enable bombing system, open bomb bay doors. Use scope/screen, press bombing switch (1 row per tap).
  6. Landing:
Gear down, flaps to 30°, throttle back. Land smoothly, brake gently. Shut down engines from Engineer’s panel.

Notes
  • Can be flown solo, but best with a crew of 2-5.
  • Tiny plane, big personality.
  • Use up to -0.15 pitch trim at higher altitudes for level flight.
  • Use oxygen masks above 6,000m.
  • Autopilot is smart... except during landings.

@QuanticCinergy, you are actually not in a very bad position. If you lose two engines on one side, it can be problematic to control. If you only lose one engine on either side, simply pull back the throttle to prevent the other two from blowing up, shut down the engines that are on fire, then attempt to land. If land is far away, then try to extinguish the fire by standing up in the astrodome. Good luck!
