@crystal-hunter Yes, you can save any apparel policies from one save as your game defaults using the in game apparel policy dialog. There is a save icon near the top.

Once saved, they will automatically appear in new save files. To manually import it into a save file, use the in game apparel policy dialog and click on the load button on the left side under the names of the policies and select "from defaults".

the question is, is it possible to import the default settings into the current save or vice versa, I set everything up as it should be, but I realized that the wardrobe settings did not appear in the current save

@1trickPwnyta, I've found a function to disable Defaults only for Areas. And after disabling the Inheritance parent area for newborns works well. Issue solved for me. Thanks.

Awesome mod - I can't believe this sort of stuff isn't in vanilla.

I was rather confused at first and thought that I must have some mod conflict because when I go to the mod settings it's just a blank page. But then I remembered that I always use the XML Extensions mod settings page; your page doesn't work with it, it seems. Not really a bug report, just a heads up for other users.

In regards to my issue with JPT Burn it for Fuel, the developer of that has made a compatibility patch: https://github.com/jptrrs/BurnItForFuel/issues/15#event-19465874618

However, an error when closing the storyteller window remains with that and is part of your mod as of them :)

Alright just touching back on my previous issue. I kept getting the error popping back up after a couple of play sessions. Clearing out the settings file would fix it briefly. I eventually got another set of errors regarding category defs. I tracked down that issue to "Davai's Sorted Categories" and ended up disabling it. Since disabling it the previous error with your mod stopped showing up completely.

I have zero clue what exactly the issue is since that mod doesn't touch reading policy stuff to my knowledge. It does, however, touch drug policies. I ended up dropping it completely and found most of what I used it for in another mod.

@1trickPwnyta Your mod has no problem in another language at all. But when I change my language setting from my mother tongue to English, default setting just blowed away. the reverse is the same

@Uaaa1111 Sorry to hear that. Currently this mod is only in English as that is the only language I'm fluent in. I think I could add support for other languages but leave it in English if that helps. That way the game could be played in another language and the mod would still be usable, even if not translated? I'll have to look into that.

@FotisP68n If you add this mod and load an existing save, none of the settings in the save file will be affected. They are only set when you start a new save file. However, some settings, such as colonist schedules and hostility response, for example, are applied to each new colonist, so any future recruits in your save file would be affected.

Hmm the settings file being screwed up? Yeah that has happened a few times now. In fact I had just (as in this morning) wiped out my config files because I found some of them were set to read only due to me moving my some settings files from 1.5 back into 1.6 for ease of quick setup. Which might explain why I didn't get the errors briefly.. (new file)

Wiping out that file and starting over again seems to work for now. I'll try to keep an eye on it in case it corrupts again. My best guess? Something I removed via Resource Dictionary or Cherry Picker might be a possible cause. I say this because I noticed in the stockpile settings it was listing items I had combined with RD. I didn't look too closely as I was only use the custom stockpile zones for food.

@Vertigo The mod shouldn't even be trying to check for those policies anyway except for the first time you load it with Odyssey. If it is, there may be something wrong with the config file for the mod. Would you be able to upload the config file somewhere? It would be at "%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Ludeon Studios\RimWorld by Ludeon Studios\Config\Mod_3285178686_DefaultsMod.xml"

Spoke too soon. Error is back. Still on reading policy. Although I have new errors(different mods) that weren't there this morning and zero mods have updated in between. so I'm back to bug hunting again. I had gotten everything down to just this policy error (which is mostly ignoreable since I don't use those policies)

@Vertigo Glad it stopped happening. Hopefully it stays that way! Out of curiosity, do you have the Spacefarer apparel policy and Maps reading policy in your default policies in the mod settings (whether you modified them or not, but do they still have the same names)?

Yes I do have Odyssey enabled. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what -is/was- causing the issue because it stopped happening. The only mod I removed was Moonlight's Medieval World Patches. (as I wasn't using the xeno mods it patched anymore) Although it had an assembly in its 1.5 folder, the 1.6 folder is pure xml that doesn't touch policies from what I remember so I'm stumped.

@Vertigo Thanks for letting me know! So that I can understand what the cause might be, do you have Odyssey enabled? Looks like it's trying to ask you if you want to add the new policies from Odyssey into your default policies but isn't able to find them for some reason.

The reason I had trouble tracking it down, is that the policy listed changed. This error is readingpolicy I had another for apparelpolicy.

I believe the errors started when you changed the settings ui.
