Guards will make a comeback as I recently figured out how to make them work again. Not currently though.

Yes it will always show red when above 6 I think by default, but the factory won't let you spawn it if it's over the server limit.

I 'think' the colour coding is fixed. Have you tried adding the BP to the factory? If it is outside the allowed limit, you should get an error similar to having an illegal block.

I have a question on base guards.. are the soldiers and mechanoids still available for purchase at stations? I have been looking for them in Polaris and Colonists but i havent seen them in a few updates and they add a little life to personal bases. Hope they are still around and if so, can someone point to the type of trader I need to locate, would really appreciate it.

I need some help with complexity limits on a dedicated server. I an hosting the server on a host site. RE2 loads fine. But BP's show a red complexity number no mater what i change the "Max Allowed Size Class" to ; currently 99. Ive changed the "Max Allowed Size Class" in the empyriondedicated.yaml" config.

what am i missing?

Note that if you click on the Creative start button, it gives you a Vanilla Creative. To get a Scenario Creative you need to start as the Scenario first and then set it to Creative.

It sounds like that might cause what you are seeing.

As for the blueprints, make sure you're always fully exiting the game completely back to windows desktop in between loading into different saves and servers.
Though I cannot say if that is the cause of your issue or not, it's possible.

Also make sure the server and your SP game are both actually RE2 and not some other scenario or a modified version of RE2.

If in doubt maybe open an issue on GitHub with links to the blueprints so others can double check on their end.

No, unfortunately Eleon does not allow creators to link to a donations page here on Steam (I really wish they'd change this policy as many other games do allow it).
The PDA links will open in the Steam overlay browser and then yeah you can copy and paste the link from there.

I'll move them into their own section in the Empyriopedia, I just wanted to avoid making it too "in your face" in-game. Don't want people thinking I'm trying to fish for donations.

Ravien, You may want to check how the links work to support you. The area About Reforged Eden is a bit hard to find. The links which open in a Steam Browser did not allow me to log in using a Google Authentication. I had to manually copy the link into my browser and log in to Patreon. Im not sure if there is any way you can make it work for your supporters.

Question: Apologies if in the wrong place: I am spawning some RE2 BPs from earlier this year in Creative mode on my PC. The ships are spawning missing engines and most components. I was able to spawn the ship correctly on a hosted Multiplayer Creative server. What is causing this? How can I fix my RE2 BPs or local game so I can spawn them.

So the TLDR answer is yes, it's partly that Eleon have held back the new deco system and advised against using it, and also that it's just a lot of work to update planets to use it.

I've been advised not to use the new deco system, so I have not yet updated all the vanilla or PE planets to use it. However many of the planets do use the new deco system for both PE and vanilla planets so those will be updated.

I also have not added any of the new planet types from 1.13 as they are all marked as WIP or sketches so likely to change in the next update. No sense doing the work twice.

If you want to see more planets in RE2 updated to the new deco system you could make a suggestion to Eleon to officially release the new deco system and documentation for it. Then I'd feel better about using it for more planets.

With that said, updating the PE planets to use the new deco system is a fairly tedious and long task as it involves redoing the decoration setup for all biomes on a planet.

I'm just wondering (I dont want this to come across as shitting on you guys) I love Reforged Eden 2, and love the dynamics, the physics and all of the game mechanics are way better than vanilla, But I'm just wondering why the planets and the environments look so much better in Vanilla? Is it something that Eleon does to hold back modders? Just curious cuz I was watching one of spanj's newest videos and the landscapes just look so grand and full.

Is it possible to update the pentaxid Hydroponics Bay so that any kind of pentaxid seed can be used? The problem with the existing one is that you can only use the lowest pentaxid seeds, which give 2 per plant, so you get 18 pentaxid per bay (a bay covers 9 plots). However there are also seeds that give 3 per plant and 4 per plant so by not using hydroponics bay you can get 27 pentaxid per 9 plots or even 36 pentaxid per 9 plots, and with those numbers the hydroponics bays become not usable. It would be cool if we coud have a basic/improved/advanced version of the pentaxid bays and they get upgraded with 9 of the better seed.

Ran into an issue with the Sea of Silence expedition, On the station in the system 'The B...' where you blow up 2 power conduits to drop the energy walkway. I detonated the charges from the crates, but the walkway remains and I cant progress.

How did I screw it up?

If I buy a AAA game I expect at least no severe bugs happening and a smooth experience.
Empyrion is made by an independent studio, they didn't make a secret out of the beta stage.
Reforged Eden 2 has a big BETA sign underneath. Beta means it is playable, but do expect bugs.
It is very honest and I know what I'm dealing with.
But for some games I share this frustration. If I'm expected to pay 50 Euros or more for a PC game I want polished.
Modders invest their time to provide for the community. They don't have a dev team.

Considering I've been working on this for 7 years and first made it to play it with my brother, if I had waited until it was "finished" there'd literally be no scenario.

That's the thing with mods developed as a hobby, the devs put a lot of time and love in their mods, but they won't ever be perfect. RE2 is an amazing project, with a lot of interesting ways on how to do things and to explore. A lot of game mechanics are well done, and I think it is much better to have a not perfect mod than no mod, and if I want to have something more finished I still can play Vanilla (haven't done it yet til the end, but they say the story is finished) or check for other games.
But RE2 is always worth coming back to and see what else is there, its huge.

Okay, if that's the case, if it's burning you out, then of course I respect that. Basically, I can understand the situation very well. I don't programme, but I do develop a pen-and-paper rule system with its own game world and a complete campaign, and I do that while I'm running the show. For me, things only appear in the game once I've finished them. I've had too many bad experiences otherwise. And especially in the gaming world, this practice of releasing half-baked games (or mods) is unfortunately putting me off more and more. Which I find a real shame with Empyrion and your mod, because I really enjoy playing the game.

Thanks, it's appreciated. What I meant is that I don't have the time to work on this like it's a full time job nor do we have a team of developers, hence updates are slower paced.
I work on it in between playing other games and all the rest of "life". :D

It's a long list and there's only two of us working on it in our spare time. Unpaid, mind you.

I really like the mod, and I'd like to thank you for your work. But it would be nice if you could finish the features and content first, instead of constantly working on new features that are only half finished. Why add another new planet class when the existing stories, mechanisms, etc. are all half-baked and unfinished?

Do POIs do not work outside Story Missions? Recently got stuck in a POI because the only way out is by interacting with some consoles, but the game wouldn't allow me to interact with them because they can only be interacted with during a Story Mission. Had to cheat my way out of the POI because of that. Really unfun...

And yeah the experimental group is meant to have more weapons/devices added to it eventually and you'll have to pick and choose what ones you want to have.

also i noticed that there can be 2 experimental weapons in the group for cv"s, but the only weapon that uses that group is the thor railgun, but that says max allowed 1, is this a wrong number, or is there gonna be another experimental weapon?
