i've played this mod before but now i cant launch the newer version of it, the old UI launcher is gone, everything else that launches the game dosent work at all, it said it installed but no launcher to play srom!!!

Crowbar Collective are the ones responsible for the current mod installation system, not HECU
They can't do anything about it unless CC updates it entirely

Dear HECU Collective - I sincerely apologize for writing such a thing - just forget it! I figured out the error and why the game crashes for me, allegedly because of the new update - answer: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3485161192 . Yes, I admit, with the new update of the BS remake, in addition to playing through the game, I decided to subscribe to models for the classic Glock, as I posted the link above, and an updated model also for the classic Magnum from the same author https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3485166482 . When I play through, I get an error like "Engine Error" indicating that I have High textures set, okay, I lowered it, crashes again, I set it to minimum and in general everything to low... CRASHES! I finally figured it out: the author didn't compress the textures and didn't take into account that saving/loading could cause the game to crash, which the Source 1 program code couldn't handle—that's the answer!

Guys..... guys..... guys..... Please, fix this - if average player subscribe to the mod, it has to.... HAS TO work right from the moment average player clicks to sub. The fact that AVERAGE player needs to go and do some custom modifications is straight up dumb, YOU want your game to sell more? If this mod is being made by the same game devs that made the core game itself, it is not even excuse why this mod should not just work without just clicking on "subscribe" by AVERAGE player. Make sure that mods work seamlessly. If average player clicks on subscribe to Blue Shift or any other single player mod - it must, just work form a get-go, AKA, plug and play.
Oh and whoever cries about "oh it`s free and blah bla blaaaah", shut up. Make it paid dlc then. I don`t mind of supporting good game developer.

Why do you write it like your computer burns down every time someone signs up and you get kicked out of the game? I don't think it has any effect on other players who have already established this for themselves.

Your mod has not been updated to the latest version. If you did not install via symbolic link, you will need to reinstall the mod.

When I jump into the portal Dr. Rosenburg creates i get the "To Be Continued" message

@AdrianDogmeat Sorry, I haven't used steam to this extent before. Just got in to modding and I wasn't sure how to go about writing a review. I'll keep that in mind for next time.

I don't mean to sound ungrateful, as this is an amazing FREE mod and it would be wrong of me to demand better. But the meat of this game is solid, it's just that much of Xen is weighing it down. The animations and set pieces are really well done and I don't want any of that to disappear, but half of the puzzles felt like tedium and the facility felt out of place. What we have so far is incredibly strong, that's why I felt like writing all of this. I want the finish product to be as good if not better than Black Mesa. You're on the right track, just gotta trim the fat and finish the last levels.

Lastly I had to turn all of my gfx settings to low just to achieve >20fps. This was not an issue in Black Mesa's Xen levels. It made aiming at the controllers rather difficult at times.

At one point there is what looks like an entire sector of BMRF inside Xen and it feels like a huge overstep. Obviously the OG Blue Shift showed human tech in Xen, but not this extent. Black Mesa did it well with the simple tents akin to what NASA has. Once you get through the facility you ride a tram around this crystal and it just wasn't working for me. I can't rationalize why any of that part exists. Which sucks because it did look really cool, but that alone didn't justify it for me. After those annoying leaf puzzles you launch the teleporter and go back to earth. That took SO long I had to do it over 3 play sessions. It was just frustrating. Launching it was an ordeal and then stopping the jammer was even more so. On return to the teleporter area I was stuck in noclip and my movement was sped up dramatically. I do not know what caused that but it happened again even after loading a save.

Focal Point is not as great. And I hate saying that because it's clear that a lot of care went in to making what we have so far. but with how great the first chapters are I don't want to dread replaying this when the finished version is released. It was a problem in the earlier chapters but it is much worse here; the enemies are a bit to tanky or the weapons need a buff. The bullsquids in particular are just ballbusters. It would be better if you only had to shoot half of the red spots to kill them. As it stands they are a seriously offensive roadblock in the flow of the game. The puzzles in this level are also less intuitive. On earth, we were either told what to do or were shown what to do by the environment. Here I felt stumped too many times to enjoy the game. Especially the leafy door sections. Those got me rather frustrated tbh.

This is two games, the earth portion and the xen portion. The earth portion is phenomenal. It ran great on my laptop at 40ish fps. Really good level design with lengthy but rewarding puzzles. A tasteful rebuild of the facility. It even has a great story with superb voice acting. It takes what Gearbox gave us and reimagines it to the creativity and quality level of Black Mesa.

Run bshift_gamelink.bat as admin and afterwards the bshift_launch.bat.

Great mod, can't wait to see the final version.

Uneven quality wise, Difficulty is a bit all over the place, Pacing is not as good as vanilla Black Mesa, Entirety of Focal point is just "Why?", Forgoes half life heritage for DOOM on gameplay a lot of the times,way too much focus on DOOM gameplay in Focal Point

@JustANormalGam3r Can you try going into bshift/autoexec.cfg with a text editor and setting r_4way_use_fast_normals 0 to 1 instead?

It may cause visual skybox bugs with blend textures but there's a possibility it might help with crashes. Let us know!

this is a great mod, but it crashes a lot especially in xen. i've had four crashes in an hour in just Xen alone and turning down the texture graphics don't do anything. still an amazing mod

This is a very good mod, seriously love it 95%, but I am having fairly significant issues with the Controllers in Focal Point, in both fights at the actual "focal point" crystal machine. The fact they can chain pull me through walls and throw me at times into things that instantly kill me is pretty frustrating. Is there something I'm missing about how to not get just killed?

My only real problems are that some enemies are too tanky (That red bullsquid in Xen for example, Which eats 10 shotgun shells), And that the jump pads in Xen are very unreliable in some cases.

Funny thing too, This is the only way that I can play Black Mesa, As the game itself crashes on startup. I've literally gotten into a week long conversation and fixing attempt with someone, To no avail <:)

5 глава очень перезатянута и переусложнена, в оригинале Зен проходится за час, в ремейке начинаешь уставать и ждешь когда глава уже закончится, не мне давать советы разрабам, они и так делают колоссальную работу, но главу все же стоит сократить процентов на 30

It is not finished. The first 5 chapters are, but the last 3 are in development and are planned to all be released in one update in the future, before we look backwards and bring the rest of the game up to snuff with what we've learned.
