@Bayram, I didn't have any custom skyboxes at the time.

The puzzle was nothing, but I guess you're interested in comments on the aesthetic. I did not find it very interesting. The only difference I saw from the plain clean / modern style was the missing panels in the ceiling and high walls, through which I could see a plain white sky and catch glimpses of stuff way in the distance.

I still liked it.

Co-op, I was a bit lazy and this was an experiment. I'm making a better map that happens to be the first map with a bumbleball in this style.

Why you have not changed the texture in the elevator?

Overall a simple test (nice to see the yellow fizzler again). Esthetically, it lacks details (why do you think it takes at least a week to make one of these maps?). Remember, custom test creation is often as much an art as it is science.

Under certain map settings in Hammer, you can change the skybox color (an OK alternative to a custom skybox) so that it's not pure white.

Nice map, but the skybox was really hard to look at and the puzzle was a little too easy.

I liked the new yellow fizzler, it could add a new dimention to puzzles.
If the "sky" was the main aesthetic point, you should probably use something custom. Until now, it never even occured to me that I was looking outside.
I enjoyed it though. Thumbs up.

I was stumped for the longest time because I didn't really understand that the yellow fizzler was a special kind of fizzler that doesn't remove portal placements when you go through it. I kind of assumed you just did a color mix-up because the light strips looked a little odd. Also don't know why the sky is all white, further confusing me on the style.

Try my map?

It wasn't "missing cubemaps" pink, kind of a really white pink. I might replay, check my settings, etc.
Gemarakup  [auteur] 16 aug 2013 om 6:18
Did the lights look pink? That solves itself probably when you restart Portal 2.
Gemarakup  [auteur] 16 aug 2013 om 6:17
Alright. So I'll use a custom skybox.
srs bsnss 16 aug 2013 om 4:13
This was interesting. I liked the style, although for some reason my light strips didn't look the way they do in the screenshots. In regards to the sky, sky_white usually fits with overgrown themed maps, but at such close range it looks a bit odd. I'd recommend using a custom skybox.
In regards to the puzzle, it was pretty good. One thing that I'd change is to move the laser receptacle to somewhere on the button/bridge side of the lake, and have it on the wall that faces across to the other side of the lake, thus making it impossible to place the portal from the other side. This way, the player would have to cross to the other side via a portal in a specific location because they can't reposition it from the other side I hope that makes sense. Anyway, gave it a thums-up.

Why? You wanted to know something so you ask.

yesterday...i never should have put that comment.
Gemarakup  [auteur] 13 aug 2013 om 21:38
It's not because hammer is hard. I made this in a few days.
Gemarakup  [auteur] 13 aug 2013 om 21:38
Ivo, It's meant to be an aesthetic showcase, so I quickly thought up this puzzle. The sky is white because it's totally cloudy I guess, but it looks good enough like this from my point of view. I may be using custom skyboxes if I need though.

this chamber deserves an answer to a hidden question: yes, hammer is hard. is the ceiling white on purpose? and why don't you try building a bigger puzzle? i liked it though. make a longer test with this grid. but i feel its color isn't right, try purple or dark blue.
