Enjoy 1.12 when it comes out next thursday! But please deactivate Utopia. Not planning for day 1 patch but rather with Patch 10 along some more features. (Custom war goals is gonna be a lot of fun for you, I hope!)

Project Utopia is a far-reaching content expansion for Victoria 3 that deepens and enriches the late game experience and adds content beyond 1936. Push beyond national borders and amplify your influence through extended production chains, a new pop type, political movements from 20th century, and continuous ideological struggles. Lead your society along a vibrant path of progress, conflict, and a new industrial transformation—now with more interconnected choices and strategic nuance. Currently in Technical Preview: the core additions are fully playable, with extra flavor, events, and polish still on the way.

Project Milesstones
Project Utopia is still under development. The development of the mod began in December 2024, starting with a prototype that has now developed to a state where I would say it's a lot of fun and features some flavored content. So I wanted to share it with you. Keep in mind, the mod is an earlier stage of development not all gameplay elements are finished and you may encounter some parts under construction.

I've previously developed EU4 content extensions, but this is a much larger project, touching many elements of Victoria 3. Looking forward to feedback on this mod page or via Discord.

Beta is planned for this year, with slow but steady progress. Checkout change notes for changes. Next milestone is alpha with all core features being there but not completly finished - should arrive soon.

All existing content is stable in terms of bugs and has been tested in play sessions. The mod will frequently update, which may cause bugs in save games or missing features from new updates. English and German localization are work in progress. Other languages have English as placeholder. It features much placeholder AI art.

The mod features many AI generated images and text descriptions.

Compatibility: Conflicts with any mods that change pop needs, base ideology stances, base production methods or map data. Feel free to request compatibility patches so they can be added to the roadmap.
Highly recommended to start with a new campaign, otherwise laws, journal entries, resources and more will be missing.

Project Utopia introduces incompatible interest groups and pop types. I love the idea of BPM but am not actively playing it myself, nor can focus on a comp patch. If anyone is interrested in doing such a project, pm me on Discord.

when it comes to new resources. maybe have the scale with roughly the timeline in which they were found. for example: it was known oil was plentyful in the middle east. but in places like the arabian peninsula they were not found in the quantities we know of today until 1938. in 1933 standard oil signed a agreement in the arabian peninsula to essentialy start digging for oil. Dammam #7 which was one of the oil wells that came out of that agreement hit jackpot in 1938. not sure if it is programable but you could have a flavor event that would show that. i think this mod is absolutely fantastic. keep up the work.
