描述
HMS Redmont (K-15) is the lead ship of the fictional Fief-class corvettes, inspired by the real Isles and Flower-class corvettes of the Royal Navy. Designed to be built quickly in conventional shipyards and used to escort convoys, the Fief-class has 3 features which set them apart: a sophisticated and accurate fire-control system, an automated and effective damage-control system, and a high-pressure supercharged steam engine. This boiler, engine, and screw setup is both (very) fuel efficient and (VERY) fast for such a small vessel, enabling this little ship to keep up with larger fleets or chase down submarines. They have proven to be surprisingly durable and lethal in combat, in addition to being useful for troop transport or SAR missions!

- - > Version with Depth Charges < - -

Remember to press like if you enjoy the ship, it means a lot!

Due to SW radar mechanics, the anchors and boats sometimes interfere with the targeting system, so if you’re expecting a fight against another ship I’d recommend deleting them or throwing them overboard if you have time.

Specs / Features
  • Speed: 30 knots (35 at flank speed)
  • Range: ~950 KM at 30 knots, 1100 km at 35 knots
  • Length: 53m (173.89 ft)
  • Beam: 9.25m (30.35 ft)
  • Easy-to-use and accurate fire-control system
  • Automatic damage control
  • Crew: 1-10 (single or multi-crew capable)
  • Career-friendly
  • Full Interior
  • Deployable anchors and lifeboats
  • 4 Separate helm stations
  • Weight stabilizer

Weapons
  • 1x QF 5-inch gun
  • 4x 20mm autocannons
  • 4x 75mm heavy autocannons
The ship comes with a radar, optical, or GPS-guided fire-control system which independently aims each turret to the target, controlled from one seat in the Combat Information Center. This system is accurate up to 4 KM out, and can hit targets on land, air, or sea. Unfortunately, due to SW radar mechanics, the anchors and boats sometimes interfere with the targeting, so if you’re expecting a fight against another ship I’d recommend deleting them or throwing them overboard if you have time.

The controls are listed in the fire-control seat, and are easy to figure out. To use the guns, switch on the fire control system and don’t forget to switch on all autoloaders and gun mounts (buttons on the left side).

Each turret can also be used manually with their local controls!

Damage Control
The ship will automatically try to seal damaged compartments by pressurizing them and pumping out the water, and will automatically put out fires anywhere near the batteries. Alarms will sound briefly anytime new flooding, fire, or other damage is detected, and if the damage can’t be contained automatically the alarms will start sounding constantly to let you know you need to start repairing. You can mute them in the damage control room if you want!
The damage control room includes controls and displays to show where the damage is, and repair tools are located around the ship.

No, if that compartment floods, you'll have to open the hatch to the floor below or the outside doors and let the water drain that way!

are there bilge pumps in the medical bay

if anyone happens to live in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on the waterfront you can visit the HMCS Sackville, which is the last surviving flower class corvette that escorted convoys across the atlantic. You can move the 4-inch breach gun on the front, you go into the engine room, crew quarters, heads...truly a great experience, highly recommend

I have, actually! I'm considering some spots I could put fixed tubes, or rotating ones if I replace a mount somewhere. I'm definitely open to thoughts from anyone more experienced in ASW in this game.

Another excellent ship. Look forward to the next one! Your ASW Fief Class is a needed addition, have you considered torpedoes as well?

The water can get from the gun turret rings to the magazines through the ammo elevators. It's definitely possible to build sealing doors into the ammo system, but it's another layer of complication and more physics bodies I wanted to avoid if reasonable. In testing, the ship was able to survive deep ocean storms at 100% wind with the magazines flooded, so I left it the way it is. Maybe I should look into how people make moonpools and use those instead of turret rings lol.

I just took it up to the Arctic and noticed that the forward magazine floods pretty badly in heavy seas. Enough to make the ship go down by the bows (and it takes the pumps ages to right it). Can't figure out where it's coming in. Any idea how to fix it?

Thank you! And I agree, a subchaser needs depth charges. Since those would add another interruption to the targeting system and a huge explosion risk in a gunfight (which is what most people will use it for), my plan is to release a seperate Fief-class ship that's got more ASW equipment installed!
