This is a collection where you will find all the ships of my SE faction, Aster Stahl Dynamics. I will update it as I design new crafts for the fleet.


A corporation born from the fusion of Aster Shipyards and Stahl Defense Systems in 2298, Aster Stahl Dynamics represented the pinnacle of Solian design when it first made its appearance on the shipbuilding scene.

Thanks to the CEOs of both companies (Adrastos Doukas and Erwin Lehmann respectively) being accomplished engineers, ASD was able to introduce a number of design aspects that revolutionised the Solian Federation's ship industry. Mixing the robust and lightweight hulls of Aster Shipyards with Stahl Defense Systems' most advanced weaponry, ASD's ships are nimble and deadly on the battlefield. What they lack in armour, they make up for in speed, manoeuvrability and firepower.

The corporation first had the opportunity to put its expertise to the test at a time where tensions between the Sol Sector and colonies in the Kamari Sector were at their highest. The First Secession War was in full swing when ASD managed to win a government contest for a frigate design and secure themselves a juicy contract.
The Athenai-class frigate, as it was later referred to, made a lasting impression on Federation officials. So much so, in fact, that ASD became the principal supplier of ships and weapon systems for the remainder of the conflict.
After the armistice was signed, however, the corporation did not struggle to find a niche in civilian designs; producing liners and cargo ships by the dozens every 2 years.

That being said, as ASD became better-established, they rested themselves on the innovations they had made almost five decades ago. Truth be told, their ships were robust and withstood the test of time admirably, but an obsolete design is still an obsolete design.
Thankfully, neither Doukas nor Lehmann had lost his wit, due in no small part to the Federation's remarkable -and ridiculously costly- life-extension medicine. A set of improvements and modernisations was devised, referred to as the "New Guidelines" amongst ASD's officials.

That decision proved to be an opportune one: with tensions in the Kamari Sector rising once again, it was not unlikely that war would break out a second time. For ASD, this meant business.
The first ship to come out of the newly-named Drachenfels shipyard, ASD's new investment, was the Bogen-class artillery cruiser. Though it had its faults at first, ASD's reputation was solid enough that the government allowed them to proceed with a refit.
After a few adjustments to the guidelines, Doukas and Lehman were able to streamline ship production and, before long, the whole navy ended up being comprised of ASD designs.

With the situation becoming increasingly dire for the Solian Federation, ASD was given full-reign over a small, resource-rich sector known as the Golden Fields.
While not an official nation per se, Aster Stahl Dynamics have nonetheless established themselves as a strong -if somewhat regional- political and military power, with deeply-rooted ties to the Federation still. As long as the Second Secession War rages on, ASD will keep supplying the former with ships. When -and if- it stops, though, rumour has it that they plan to gain their independence, be it peacefully or by force...
