1. I keep forgetting to toggle into Hover mode when I go lowering the platform, so it'd be nice if it automagically selected that mode when the platform was lowered. Perhaps with an option to disable it if someone can come up with a reason for wanting Heli mode to stay active while they drop the platform?
2. I find it frustrating to have to switch from keyboard to in-world (ie: mouse) control during typical operations (eg: takeoff to >100 altitude via arrow keys and autopilot somewhere via mode select), so it'd be nice to be able to switch modes via keyboard shortcut.
3. Waiting to climb to >100 manually to toggle cruise mode is understandable because of VTOL-y-ness, but it'd be nice if I didn't have to hold the up arrow to get there. Maybe if an autopilot destination is set, trying to toggle to cruise mode could first climb vertically to a safe altitude?
4. Being able to specify an altitude to hold during Heli mode would be nice, as coming out of Cruise mode at 300+ means you spend a lot of time holding the down key to get back to an 'operational' height. It could potentially be a solution for #3 as well (eg: Set altitude to 110, while it climbs set autopilot coord, once it's climbed set cruise mode, while it cruises set the altitude to 55 or something so once it exits cruise mode it'll start descending).
5. It would also be nice to be able to control the platform via hotkeys from the seating too. Sometimes there're enough particles and whatnot flying around, or the platform has gotten lower than expected and is now underwater, or you chose your seat poorly and someone you've rescued is in the way, and you just want to reel in and go home but you can't quite hit that button as quick as you need to (if at all). This is admittedly partially inspired by the issue I posted in the issues section, but that's not the *only* scenario where I've felt like I wanted quicker and easier control.
6. Some kind of way to really cling to a surface when landed would be nice. If you happen to land on a slight hill or in high winds or on a particularly tippy ship's helipad, nothing quite beats a couple well placed magalls to hold you right where you put yourself.
7. The pilot would benefit from a viewscope as well I think. I had one mission where I had to look for a blue boat, and up until I was mere meters from it, the downward-facing camera couldn't distinguish it from the sea lol.
8. The magall on the rescue platform would probably benefit from being attached to a third button near the winch controls on board the main aircraft, both to use it as an 'anchor' by winching down without being *on* it, and to release it if it's anchored (although it does feel as though the reel in button might auto-disconnect it?, which is nice unless you want to reel the aircraft down to the anchor instead...)
9. It'd be nice if the rescue platform could have a way to toggle how it extends and retracts the winch. Eg: 'Up' just takes it all the way back to the aircraft again without having to hold it (or perhaps takes it to a platform-length below, so you can wait for it to un-twist and settle before going *in*, while 'Down' takes you down until you hit ground or sea level.
I'd propose the physical buttons would do this, as would the hotkeys from #5, but there'd be additional hotkey controls for manual adjustments as well, which would be probably easier anyway if the angle you're looking at was unconstrained. Physical buttons for it would be a nice to have, but I don't know how you'd make the room and I can't think of a good way for the existing ones to perform double-duty.
