What:
Reduces the playable area to the Far East, going East only to the Ural mountains. Mongolia, Tibet, and Suvarnabhumi forms the western border.

Why:
Lag reduction. I'd like to play without the bloat of tens of thousands of characters in far flung realms with which I'll never interact. The smaller map mods in the workshop are still too broad or went a little too narrow for tastes, so I made my own.

Notable Changes:
  • Most regions have been made impassable. The titles and characters from those regions have been removed.
  • Only characters within playable bounds will appear in the bookmarks.
  • The kingdoms of Zhetysu and Dzungaria were taken from Tartaria and are now a part of Mongolia.
  • The kingdom of Khotan was taken from Turan and is now a part Tibet.
  • The Silk Road has been disabled.

Known Bugs and Issues:
  • Everything else seems stable and there were no crashes during testing, which consisted of running the game for 50+ years at each starting date a bunch of times.

Incompatibilities:
  • Not compatible with anything that changes 00_landed_titles.txt or provinces.png.

Compatibilities:
This mod should be compatible with the following;

I have three weeks off coming up for the holidays.
Then I can work on new maps and fix any reported bugs, like the Ryukyu Emperor.

Can you do one that includes Africa?

Perfect but cannot form Ryukyu Emperor, is that possible to fix it?

This one?

In theory, it should be. As long as this mod is below the patch in the load order.

Steam keeps giving me an old version of the Unofficial Patch meant for game version 1.12.*, and enabling it will crash my game at launch. So, I can't properly test compatibility.

You'll have to test it yourself if you can manage to get the up-to-date mod files.

Thank you so much for fixing the innovation issues. Do you know if this mod is compatible with the Unofficial Patch mod?

@rayancoelho
That should do it. Discovered innovations should mirror the vanilla game now.

The innovations were being discovered via script, I just added them directly to the history files.

Sinophilic cultures only consist of Vietnamese and Korean by default. They also only have Champa Rice and Lacquered Armor, respectively, discovered even for 1178 by default.

I'll look into it.

the mod seems to be working fine, however, since you have disabled the silk road, "Han" and other Sinophilic cultures start the game without the Silk Road innovations. Could you take a look at that and fix it?

May heaven bless you

In regard to long-term support:
I can't promise the same 3+ years of support Starmender has given their mods. My time and interests will probably drift towards other things and I'll drop the SEA and NEA maps to only maintain the Far East and Europe maps, like I did with my old Iberia map.

My first maps were put up over a year ago. They're unlisted now because this is the second time a major update has broken them. And it's personally more fun to start from scratch than to debug, especially since they've changed parts of their coding language again. Also, I lost the original mod files...

Chances are that support will end with the next mod-destroying major update and I won't be arsed to fix it.
