Hi all, I know this is very old but I made a newer version of this scenario. I called it Lone Survivor and it should be on the workshop. Wanted to start from a fresh slate coming back to the game, and I looked at this one in the editor and it is very broken

is this map updated When is the update ready you know?
yea i think there should be addition food and water and stuff like oxygen and methane in a drop thurther out so you would need to use the rover but just add more food and water in to supply drops already around
@UR|ashein I think it is a great idea to add some outpost materials around the map and I will get on that
@killer_Foxy, the sustainance issue here is that for the hydroponics and water station to work you need a sealed environment, i.e. an outpost. Wish you could mount those into your landing module, but that won't work. To build a minimalistic outpost you'll need a lot of resources and a larger printer (the airlocks seem to be the largest objects to build, requiring, like, a 3x3x4 printer or so?). More precious time is needed.

Or maybe more supply drops strewn around the map, with either additional food/water, or outpost components, or outpost "furnishing" including hydroponics/water station; the more valuable stuff, the further away the supply drops.

Don't know if it's possible to randomize the supply drop coordinates (better to choose between preset coord), but if that was a thing, that would give a lot of replayability/discovery to the scenario.

and the only problem i see it lack of food and water so can you add an addition supply drop that has a potato growing think and water tanks to make more water

when i was new to TKOM this was the first map i ever played it was fun exploring the map and going to all the supply drops and also i love how you made the supply drops i remember 2 days after i started playing i found the supply drop on the hill with the rover i thought it was very cool and i would love to see it updated i really think this is an amazing map and it helped teach me about TKOM.

Also do note that there's the info by the dev on how you can add items into containers that spawn in the shipment drops. That will require manual editing of the file and assigning the items to specific slots in the containers. I've only played with manually assigning stuff to a pre-created astronaut in the scenario, though, so there might be some nuances.

Regarding the consumables vs. the progress, I had only been able to expand the printer to 2x2x4 and print the water dispenser and hydroponics module when my food/water supplies ran out. I'd say doubling the supplies amount would have helped me survive. Note that I was basically always running around, seeing how that only increased oxygen consumption, not calories/water burn ratios.

Thanks for your scenario, keep up the good work!

Thank you everyone for your amazing support, and I will be sure to update it soon to add additional resources

I really like this scenario but I feel like you will starve or thirst o death long before you can build even a small base to enable food and water production. Has anyone else been able to survive long term with this?
this is a great scenario but need a litle bit more suplies with food and water
@BabyThor the thing that your mod has over the official senario's is that the official ones all seem to use the creative printer and not the new one that needs resources for one thing. but yea a challenging survival senario would be ideal...maybe one where you start with even less materials than your sp one? perhaps just enough to build a larger 3d printer and mining and storage equipment or something

I think Co-Op would be ideal for multiplayer. Likely a bit simpler to set up as well in the editor!
Continued...
Specifically, what do you want to do in a multiplayer version (co-op vs competitive)? Moreover, what do you find about my scenario that is advantageous over, say, just loading up a vanilla Cydonia co-op? (These are questions out of curiousity, not any negative emotion)
@elvinblade
I'm so happy you like it! :D
I am not very good with the editor yet... :\
But I am more than happy to attempt to make this scenario into a multiplayer format
the senerio is pretty good! Would be awesome if you could make a mp version.
I have updated it! It now has a pod with food, water, and other supplies, including crates. I couldn't get the items to spawn in the crates, sorry... :p The editor does not have the most friendly user interface
Hadn't thought of that thanks :p I guess I need to do some custom scripting for the supply drop (Or I could cheat and make it on the ground, which is that I'll do for simplicity)
Hydropnics and Water station both require a pressurized enviroment. To get to that point does require a bit of an investment timewise. Both in producing more power (to mine resources) and also increasing the size of your printer!

Surviving to that point is the challenge! ;)

With no ability to take samples and determine resource concentrations it can be a little more time intensive.

If doing a water/food drop, keep that in mind!
@Kalinth Thank you so much for your feedback! :D
I thought about it right after uploading it that it would be impossible (Or nearly) to get to a point where you could make food and water. My first thought was to leave a hydroponics station and water station, but I thought that would be too easy ;p But yes I will definitely add a drop of food and water
This scenario definitely gives a challenge to deal with at the start. The only thing that stands out to me is an inability to grow food or make use of water extracted from soil (unless I overlooked something). I don't think it is feasible to make an enviroment that you can start doing so with using only the rations you start with.

Perhaps a tertiary supply drop that contains a few crates with food/water?
