It would appear even almost a year later it's still causing issues as mentioned in the post made on May 23rd, 2018. Unsure if this mod will ever be fixed but until then, probably avoid downloading this broken mod.

Lmao. According to the previous comment, putting a ship block into the sample tray allows you to stop time. Pfft, I gotta download this.

I put a block of ship panel in the sample tray. I shift clicked a stack of some random block into the assembler. The block disappeared from my inventory, but did not appear in the assembler. On closer inspection I realized that all interaction had frozen. My gardenbots just stood in place, pet was motionless and even though I could walk around and use my inventory, nothing in the world was affected.

1000 characters isn't much...I beamed down to the planet, watched the teleport beam for 5 minutes or more, eventually appeared on the surface and then beamed back. Vanished blocks had appeared in the assembler, sample slot was empty. I drop in another panel and repeat the cycle.
I'm not sure what this mod does exactly, but it sure takes awhile to do it and then hides the evidence.

The one major thing i would like it the 'output' of the crafting not go into the sample slot. This would allow for real automation for a base, trying to create a cycle for a fully automated base a bit much. Also, because this deals with automation maybe create a blueprint system that 'saves' a recipe and can do it and have an automated portfolio item thatif any recipie in it is met it will make that item, people would have to make sure no conflicts exist. Think like how minecraft does those mods with 'saved' recipies that can just be clicked on, but with an inventory for items like you have here. I don't know enough about modding and you have done great so far with this, maybe just the next level suggestions. Either way /i will use it and figure out a whole crafting system to automate all the little stuff like ores into ingots.

Hasn't FU have its own ver. of this idea? It can be read in FU guide book #1 almost in the beginning.

If you play this mod with "Frackin Universe":

Output the Example Slot into a Stack-Halver and output the 3rd Slot from the Stack-Halver back into the Example-Slot of the assembler. Use a "Configurable 3-State Cycler to rythm the Output-Cycle between Assembler and Stack-Halver. Aand everything that is placed into the 2nd Slot of the Stack-Halver can be Transfered everywhere else.

This way you won´t need to have a full stack in the Example-Slot first to use the assembler.

works with Frackin Universe for the few recipes I have tested out. Really powerful mod.
[DBH].Whismerhill.{SSgt} 1. nov. 2017 kl. 4:28
suggestion : add "autocrafting" "automated crafting" as keywords or in description for better chances to find this for people.
Azavit 11. okt. 2017 kl. 22:43
Woudl it be possible to not have any of the parts go back into the sample slot? makes it a bit harder to automate with things like Frakin universe (with out getting an entire stack of the item yoru crafting in the sample slot first)

Hey, thanks for this. Mod works great so far. If you ever update it, adding wire input output nodes would be great!
OromisElf 5. juni 2017 kl. 15:43
great mod!
Really appreciate it. Any chance it will be uploaded to the starbound forum?
RobotLucca 12. maj 2017 kl. 0:45
Hey, so I tried using this to make a factory, but when I hooked everything up it decided on the wrong recipe, making my factory useless! Is there any chance that you could add an option to select which recipe to use if there are multiples, or at least have it recognize which recipe it actually has the resources for?
oddballThaumaturgist 2. mar. 2017 kl. 10:11
dose anyone know of a mod that will help my factory i need something that can move chests

@Katakuri it works
Katakuri 12. jan. 2017 kl. 6:39
does it work with frackin universe ?
Chiquitetas 14. nov. 2016 kl. 9:29
genius
Weaver 18. okt. 2016 kl. 0:21
It's been working well for a while, but I just went to build some, and um, did you mean for the inventor's table to be an ingredient?
ace 24. sep. 2016 kl. 14:28
I like the sprite.
DustCloud 12. sep. 2016 kl. 19:23

Weaver 5. sep. 2016 kl. 20:55
Now I'm getting an error in the (server) log:
[Error] Exception while invoking lua function 'update'. (LuaException) Error code 2, [string "/objects/crafting/assemblerwall/assemblerwall..."]:63: attempt to compare number with nil
stack traceback:
[C]: in metamethod '__lt'
[string "/objects/crafting/assemblerwall/assemblerwall..."]:63: in global 'craftitem'
[string "/objects/crafting/assemblerwall/assemblerwall..."]:10: in function <[string "/objects/crafting/assemblerwall/assemblerwall..."]:6>

And the assembler then stops attempting to work.
Sera 5. sep. 2016 kl. 1:07
This is a great idea. But with blocking stuff that needs pixels it means a lot of other mods will not work with it. (One I got this mod for.) I get why but most people would use it for the mod stuff.
Weaver 4. sep. 2016 kl. 13:06
Hm, it doesn't seem to be doing anything obviously damaging, but I'm getting a "[Warn] Could not spawn item, item empty in WorldCallbacks::spawnItem" in the log every time the Assembler produces a thing.
Jason_c_o 4. sep. 2016 kl. 0:35
Would like to try this out once it's got an actual cost/crafting recipe!
TimothyWiggins127 3. sep. 2016 kl. 18:04
This is nice, especially considering that this is your first mod. I look forward to seeing it grow.
[ILL]AimlessimpOrcarated 3. sep. 2016 kl. 8:05
sorry for the double post. If you need any help let me know.
[ILL]AimlessimpOrcarated 3. sep. 2016 kl. 8:02
This looks cool. Maybe design one for each of the races(modded ones included like the avali) that matches their ships looks? there has been time where i didnt even want to make an item and coudlnt find it because some mods dont have a bench or just dont use one. Keep up the great work and dont give up.
Oven_N  [ophavsmand] 3. sep. 2016 kl. 5:52
should work with any item that using vanilla crafting system
Solzucht 3. sep. 2016 kl. 5:02
this is actually usefully. does it work with any items or just vanilla ones?
Kaldreth 3. sep. 2016 kl. 3:54
This is awesome! It's exactly what I was looking for.
