Thanks very much for a super scenario, lots of AI and works going on. I really enjoyed it. May i suggest an Idea for a scenario, how about being the driver of one of the DMUs that has to give way to the express?
Regards, Keith.

Thank you for the kind words and the highest compliment Tony. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It is a scenario I go back to myself from time to time to go for a thrash.

Hello Phil, fantastic, a very well thought out scenario using a lot of relevant AI with clever diversions. Truly one of the finest passenger scenarios I have had the honour to drive! Thankyou for sharing this masterpiece with us all.
Regards, Tony.

Hi,just wanted to say thanks for this enjoyable scenario.Plenty going on to keep any driver on his or her toes so to speak. The sections of the run where the service encountered diversions for engineering work were well thought out.Overall excellent, thanks for sharing...Kev.

It is definately the fan. When idle you get no fan noise, after a short while on full throttle a low whirring sound starts when the roof fan starts, every so often a higher pitches whirring sound and that is the fan speeding up for 20 - 30 secs. I ran this scenario and kept an eye on the fan on the roof.

The engine tone does change every so often on the Class 45 model as you're going along. I noticed that during all the tests I did on this scenario. To be honest, I can think of no reason why you'd be getting the Napier sound. There's no Deltic's in the scenario. The only thing that whines a bit are the 101's but you'd know the sound of them. Have you tried your 45 on a quickdrive on another route to see if the sound changes?

Hi Phil, the change in the engine sound I heard during this scenario was definitely that of a Deltic Napier two Stroke and not the cooling fan.Run this scenario and judge for yourself.

Thank you for the kind comments. @HighGround22 I try my best to make my descriptions as plain and helpful as I can. Glad you found it very helpful.
@Fairrosamund The scenario was set in the mid 1970's just before the Thames - Clyde express lost it's name. They didn't start making the 319's until the mid 1980's plus the line wasn't electrified until the early 80's. The 'other' sound you are hearing on the 45 is probably the noise of a fan starting up

Many thanks for a very enjoyable run!
And on a small-but-important note, I truly do appreciate your first line of text in the description ( A Standard scenario for the Midland Mainline ). You have no idea how helpful this is, for TS drivers who are "from away", as I am.
Cheers, -Jon

This scenario evokes memories for me when back in the mid 70's I used to commute to and from the East Midlands to St.Pancras on a weekly basis. The haulage always being a Class 45 locomotive. However one thing that I noticed lacking in this scenario was the constant flow of "Bedpan"(Class 319) units plying their trade along this stretch of track. Also on several occasions during the trip the sound of the rattley Sulzer engine tone changed to that of a roaring two stroke Napier Deltic engine. Is there any explanation for this?Otherwise well done anf thanks for sharing.
