Mine wound up looking like a cube van, lol! http://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=697943256
Its a cool idea, hope you can get it to work
Only have to tighten it all up and then it's ready to go.
In any case, good luck on fixing the bugs. It seems like a great idea otherwise.

I'm not sure how immersive it is supposed to be. But if its a "base" would there not be a place for the crew, (even a crew of one) Bunk/s, loo, food prep area etc.
Or is it not that type of base?
I'm just thinking of the whole "when planets come along" and as you said "it was all you would need for a base" This is an honest question, no hate of criticism.
As it really is incredible.
i want to Build it ore just the Turret, i want to try something. Cant found it:(
The problem is in your duo rotor hinge system placed on both ramps and above the main body that holds the solar panel and rotor system. When you merged these rotors together with each corresponding rotor, it actually "crushed" the top of the rotor into the body, and this crushed rotor is constantly trying to "push" the top back into position. However since the other rotor is at minimal displacement and cannot be moved, it simply applies this push force to the entire section of the base, causing it to spin.
This can very easily be fixed by deleting the rotors that are turned OFF. Doing so will cause the rotors to do a little "snap" from the relesed pressure but shoul cause very little if no damage. Then you should be able to "convert to ship" with no problem!
@ blu | w4stedspace how did you get it to merge did you use all 4 merge blocks or only 2
On another note, I too had the spinning issue with one of my ships...
So far haven't found a solution to it yet, but if i find one i'll try and let you know.
I do however have an idea of where it might come from... pistons that are very close and move perpendicular. Because my ship didn't have rotors, and that is the only thing that i did different than usual in it...
