did you fix the rotation issue?
xflightx 8. feb. 2017 kl. 10:34
is this a troll post? the conveyors are nto connected you half the grind the entire left side off and rebuild it lol
BLUNT 2. dec. 2016 kl. 14:38
Wow cool! Yours is a lot more compact than the one I built...love the medbay idea! Looks really good as a standalone deliverable. Great idea for relocation when resources deplete. :treasuremark:

Mine wound up looking like a cube van, lol! http://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=697943256

I'm not sure about somewhat safe.. but it's more viable than it was certainly :)
Titus Brutus Avituis 10. okt. 2016 kl. 15:38
so hows this now work since rotors and so have been becoming better ? is this a viable and somewat safe thing to try now ?
Khestral 2. feb. 2016 kl. 14:57
Man this thing is awesome!
Eclipse Tech 29. jan. 2016 kl. 7:07
I wonder if W4sted will do an updated version of this, or just one where he tests in on a real planet.
Sevarek 11. jan. 2016 kl. 11:53
Hey i have fixed the spinning just by adding timer block to detach the rotors causing the spinning and attaching again when foulding.. Now the problem is that it explode when going through the atmosphere :)

Its a cool idea, hope you can get it to work

There is only one minor flaw with the set up. The external connectors only "feed" the assemblers, you would have to hand feed the refineries. Great job though!! I have tried many times to make something similar only to have the pistons or rotors fail after about 4 uses! Yours hasn't failed at all!!
Finch 4. apr. 2015 kl. 19:28
Could you place the MCV into a world file please? as since the latest patch my game will no longer download blueprints and SE Toolbox has also stopped working for 32bit system.
CZFoo 20. mar. 2015 kl. 5:59
I took (aka stole) the idea te remake a MCV for myself, all single rotors and there's no spinning whatsoever. I can definately 'stole' since the outside is almost completely the same ;)

Only have to tighten it all up and then it's ready to go.
Vagabond X 14. mar. 2015 kl. 1:51
Oh, I've heard about that issue... Supposedly it happens when you have rotors or pistons on a station, and convert it to a ship. Though the vetern players who told me that also mentioned said parts would "explode" after a certain point due to the stress/fighting against existing gyroscopes... If that's true the "simple" solution would be to rebuild everything as a Large Ship.

In any case, good luck on fixing the bugs. It seems like a great idea otherwise.
Storm1992 8. mar. 2015 kl. 17:38
anyway you can fix it where it can move around like a ship then deploy when it on the ground because most MCV not always need to be carry they can move to other location like those that on C&C Red Alert 3 or the other C&C game
Im Still Alive 8. mar. 2015 kl. 9:00
Could you please put the carrier ship on here please
Alien 480 5. mar. 2015 kl. 10:47
with the updated version i still get an access denied problem trying to acess anything on it. even if i build it myself from a blueprint or copy paste it from a blueprint
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 4. mar. 2015 kl. 2:30
@LordQulex Check my profile videos, there's one called Building on the Basics ep.1 in which I explain how to do that + dual pistons :)
Culler 3. mar. 2015 kl. 20:46
I have looked in to the problem your having with the spinning and i have found that if you have 2 rotors on one door you get the spinning problem. it has some thing to do with the tenchen between the 2 rotor heads. to fix this problem and still have stubillity on the door replace the second rotor with a connector. connect the second connector to a connector on the wall. this should fix your problem

Welp, now i know what ill use for camping :) thanks w4stedspace
Drug Cyborg, FBI 3. mar. 2015 kl. 18:16
I can imagine this working alongside the DCV quite nicely as a two-part base. Basically, this would be the dedicated industrial platform (take the medbay out, probably, and fit it with some kind of storage container or other industrial gear) and use the DCV as a pressurized habitation module that could be deployed alongside. Possibly with life support gear, either what KSWH provides or from a mod, replacing the industrial gear in one of the DCV modules. At the cost of doubling the amount of transport space and possibly resources needed to get the whole thing up and running, it might give a bit more versatility and be more realistic that way.
StarScreamer200 3. mar. 2015 kl. 18:09
any way on uploading the MCV carrier ship you made
LordQulex 3. mar. 2015 kl. 18:03
This is amazing! I'm failing hard to recreate two rotors attached to a door working in unison - how did you do it?! Driving me mad!
Stahe 3. mar. 2015 kl. 18:00
Would be neat to make this into a modular version. For example, make this specific one as a designated room for something. Have them come out of the drop ship and connect together once planetside to make an even bigger MCV, anyways, just an idea for you. Great build so far though!
GhostShepherd ︻芫 - 3. mar. 2015 kl. 17:58
Very cool
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 3. mar. 2015 kl. 17:30
@Andy Yeah, I'm kinda so-so about realism in builds like this simply because the spatial demands kinda ask for a purely practical approach and my lack of using mods means that adding something that really looks like crew quarters is also hard! I want to do a much larger version at some point, kinda a deployable main base and will include crew quarters in that for sure :) Cheers!
w4stedspace  [ophavsmand] 3. mar. 2015 kl. 17:28
Updated version up guys, rotation/spinny issue pretty much solved and the mods warning is also gone! Thanks so much for all your feedback and wil try and respond to ppl individually still :)

You Sir are a genius. Quick question..
I'm not sure how immersive it is supposed to be. But if its a "base" would there not be a place for the crew, (even a crew of one) Bunk/s, loo, food prep area etc.
Or is it not that type of base?
I'm just thinking of the whole "when planets come along" and as you said "it was all you would need for a base" This is an honest question, no hate of criticism.
As it really is incredible.
Agent Orange Juice 3. mar. 2015 kl. 11:13
Just a more technical question though, how did you build it? most things I build with pistons and rotors just fall apart because the heads fall off for no reason, even with destuctable blocks turned off.
Agent Orange Juice 3. mar. 2015 kl. 11:10
Deployed this on Mars 04. It's got plenty of space to park a Mako on board.
OpaSchwitzt 3. mar. 2015 kl. 10:00
Hey Master do you can send me a link from your Next Gen Carrier Ep.8: Leviathan Missile Boat? so i can subscribe it and juse it,
i want to Build it ore just the Turret, i want to try something. Cant found it:(

After doing some experiminting, I have come up with a reason as to why your deployable base will start spinning when it was converted to a ship, and came up with a simple solution that can provide immediate results.

The problem is in your duo rotor hinge system placed on both ramps and above the main body that holds the solar panel and rotor system. When you merged these rotors together with each corresponding rotor, it actually "crushed" the top of the rotor into the body, and this crushed rotor is constantly trying to "push" the top back into position. However since the other rotor is at minimal displacement and cannot be moved, it simply applies this push force to the entire section of the base, causing it to spin.

This can very easily be fixed by deleting the rotors that are turned OFF. Doing so will cause the rotors to do a little "snap" from the relesed pressure but shoul cause very little if no damage. Then you should be able to "convert to ship" with no problem!
Chaoskid 3. mar. 2015 kl. 6:21
@ desimatorg plz read what i sayed and other been exslpaine

@ blu | w4stedspace how did you get it to merge did you use all 4 merge blocks or only 2
Tristanfrog 3. mar. 2015 kl. 4:53
One of my ships had the same problem, and it seems that when the gyros were set to override mode, it slowed down signifcantly if not stoped
TheLightLOD 3. mar. 2015 kl. 4:00
Nice thingy, was half expecting a Mobile Construction Vehicle from Command & Conquer :P

On another note, I too had the spinning issue with one of my ships...
So far haven't found a solution to it yet, but if i find one i'll try and let you know.

I do however have an idea of where it might come from... pistons that are very close and move perpendicular. Because my ship didn't have rotors, and that is the only thing that i did different than usual in it...
Linio 3. mar. 2015 kl. 2:15

i have stopped it from spinning when you update this next can you turn off the mining ship thruster i even deleted the mineing ship and it worked fine then rembered that 1 thurster was on and truned it off and tried it and it worked this may not work for every one but it worked for me thank you and keep up the good work dude
