If we start arguing over what is historically accurate and what is not, there would be no end to it.
This mod exists solely to rebalance travel activities that feel overpowered, and does not take historical accuracy into consideration.

From a common sense perspective, the Ruler’s Parade should not increase this 'Absentee Lord' trait EXP.

most rulers ruled by the way of traveling throughout their realm. So the grand tours were actually them ruling more directly, auditing their subordinates.

@Sir Floyd The Breathless
No, experience points are only gained when you travel.

Hi do you get absentee exp when ruling army outside your realm?

@king0billy
Yes.

Can this mod be safely added/removed from the save file?

It's a great gameplay balance, but not strictly for authenticity. The travelling system for ck3 is supposed to also mirror the (European) historical phenomenon of "itinerant courts", which was fairly common for a large portion of time for Medieval Europe. In a sense, it's somewhat more ahistorical for most of the available realms in Europe to even have a capital. This is to say, maybe at least add some more cultural exceptions, or lessen some of the debuffs? But definitely agree that at least gameplay-wise it's a little too rewarding

Great mod, good for balancing gameplay + immersion!

버프가 많았는데 이런 난이도 상승용 너프 모드도 있어서 좋네요

@琥珀之剑 For what it's worth, CK3 is wildly unrealistic and it is a pretty common thing in fiction. I mean, hell, just look at the Odyssey. After 20 years away, suddenly half of Ithaca is vying for the throne while assuming their ruler is just dead. I feel like, if anything, control loss and dread loss should be even higher.

What nonsense! I have yet to find a single example in all of history, ancient or modern, East or West, of a palace coup occurring while a monarch was traveling. The game already offers players too few activities to organize, and now we have to limit them with such seemingly reasonable mods? I bet those who have subscribed to this mod will regret it soon。

does this also apply if i lock someone up in prison??

Absolutely brilliant idea, can't wait to see it in action - like the suggestions of regent consideration.

Removed loss of Control factor.
Dragoon 12 月 9 日 下午 4:02
Cool concept. I agree with the control idea or other penalties not being as harsh depending on the aptitude or loyalty of the regent.
Ishchyaboi 12 月 9 日 上午 10:16
I also think this wouldn't happen if you have a loyal regent. Or at least, you might not gain experience as quickly.
TurtleShroom 12 月 9 日 上午 9:59
This is awesome, but I think that the system shouldn't penalize Control that harshly. That's a death spiral waiting to happen.

Also, might I suggest that when you conduct Grand Tours, that rapidly reduces the Trait because of the very conspicuous and attentive nature of the excursion?
