I want to suggest you some improvements:
1- the rituals and units description are a bit short and, in some cases, totally absent
2- should be cool to differentiate the many type of dogs using different sprites. it's impossible to distinguish between them without reading the name every time
If I encounter other things that may be improved I will write you in the comments =)
1. The most important one, the Sorceress Savant murdered my Sponsor in 2 rounds using her Elemental Discharge spell, which blasts directly around her. It makes little sense for the spell to be on their lists I think, since the unit starts at the BACK of the army and generally NEXT TO the Sponsor or other important ranged units. Not to mention that the enemies are over 20 blocks away when shes nuking the hell out of my Sponsor which just felt like she was trying to assassinate me before I even got going. Cool unit, but that was a bit of a fiasco and a quick end to one of my runs. I paid 58 gold for that witch to murder me.
My fav was the dancing girl because her lore is exactly what she does, she is a seductive dancer that fights all over the place and triggers seduction. I charmed a Raksharishi and got to buy some of their units and I love that.
notes:
- Early game is rough because you end up having to pay 5-10 turns of gold for each hero who all start mid-tier. Hiding the heroes behind the requirement of having an adventure guild up then just making the heroes cheap could be nice. As it stands you get steamrolled in the early game, Almost any army showing up is game over.
- Some hirelings' abilities clash with their lore: The girl has a spider theme but after I get her to max level all she can really do is summon like a level 1 druid. Something like her spawning in low level spiders she can buff with rituals and spells would, in my eyes, fit better with the theme.
Great mod
(Feedback isn't wasted either. Since "finishing", I've wanted to do a specific kind of remaking of the mod at some point. Though "some point" is like a year from now with how my studies are going, considering that overhaul will involve re-writing the entire thing lol. But, I read and consider all the suggestions, and will be re-reading this thread when that time comes.)
More importantly, just pushed an update which should fix that typo @knayt, and the bug found by @maxbabaev, hopefully now people can experience the Sorceress's true form without having to edit the mod-files.
• A non-combatants commander, who can spawn town guards guards on settlements that are not cities and create a non-moving unit that spawns patrolling town guards, also that improves iron and gold income
• Allow this faction to capture ancient forests, both to reduce independent spawn as well as to recruit nature based heroes
• Evil heroes that grow extraordinary powerful but have an inherent trade off in exchange for their power
I think I've found a small bug. Sorceress Supreme library upgrade is not working. Adding command mastery 1 to her definition in mod file fixed it.
Would you consider using a temporary chest unit when creating artifact, like some other mods do, to avoid clogging up inventory slots of the sponsor with cursed item ?
also on the same topic as defence. patrolmen ai is so dumb, they just walk blindly while a bear is litterly right next to them about to take over a undefended town when next turn they walk away and the bear takes it no problem and the pretrolmen refuses to take back the town. wish there was some basic ai where they proirotize defending key locations and fending off attackers rather then just walking around and exploring insted of doing their job that I trained them for.
good but not perfect.
And have a good final in your current academic step :)
Different vibes but reminds me of a favorite mod of mine from CoE 3 that essentially ported Dynasty Warriors characters to CoE (Lu Bu is still an unstoppable giant asshole, as is Just and Good). I actually have a version of that mod I've converted to CoE5 and I am (in my limited free time) slowly getting it polished up to release on here.
But yeah, love the hero/SC
