One thing that would greatly enhance diplomatic interactions is the option, through role-playing or scripting, to arrange marriages between your family members and companions with whomever you wish, in the style of Crusaders: Kings. This would significantly improve interactions with characters and between NPCs themselves.

Add the ability to kill NPCs during dialogues. For example, after acting out certain events. For instance, with a sudden hand movement, draw a blade and stab it into the body. I tried implementing this several times, but the game just froze in the dialogue window. Please respond and mention me so the message doesn't get lost.

Ah. I'm usually not searching Nexus for games that have a workshop. But great that someone already went ahead with a compatch!
Alas, ToR is too special to implement an easy fix, it seems. Shame. But hey, this mod hasn't been out for that long, so we might get it in time.

@CaptainKampfkeks there is AI Influence context for RoT on Nexus mods, and it works just fine. I just added a single phrase in word.txt that during war, fiefs are often claimed by other kingdoms, because the NPCs were super stuborn about Town X belonging to X house. Honestly i was very impressed with NPCs ASOIAF knowledge, sadly no solution that i know of for ToR but this mod is just built different and making any mod go with it is a pain :<

@TrevTheNomad Yes, it won't work together natively. This mod is built for the world of Calradia, the vanilla game. Any overhauls that change the setting won't have any data for the AI to pull from. It's a shame, but unless either the makers of the realm of thrones or you want to make write a new file to make these compatible, I don't see much hope. It's why I stopped playing The Old World, too. Among other reasons like marriage not being a thing there. I want some romance in my Warhammer, dammit.

@CaptainKampfkeks, and have you tired Crusader Kings III? I have just started that, but struggling to get into. It has all the diplomacy aspects of Bannerlord, without the real time battles. Sometimes I play Bannerlord for hours without taking part in a single battle (I just 'Send Troops'), but its nice to have the option, which CK3 doesnt have to offer.

@CaptainKampfkeks, Yes it would make sense to disable the button until a response is available as I think that confuses many players who dont take the time to get to know the mod. They leave a negative comment and uninstall it without giving it a chance. Hopefully an update will come soon, but yeah I could just disable the Ai initiative options until then. I think this mod does require a certain degree of imagination on the players part. Many say "it does nothing" but it does certain things, but the fun part is making little stories with the NPCs and creating a whole new dialogue, which they remember and reference to. I have convinced Caladog that im his b*astard son and it may not directly effect the game, but its fun just using some creativity.

Hey so im running this with the realm of thrones mod and it just kind of feels like it doesnt do anything at all... There reallt isnt any game changing going on just when i talk to NPC i can either hurt or build relationships more. Any idea what im doing wrong?

Pilgrim, this feature is bugged and causes crashing, just try to do talk later and then ask your comp what he wanted

had a companion talk to me, and it crashed. I had alot of mods so i'm going to run though to attempt to see what did that.

@Anthony Yeah, that crash is annoying, I'd like to use that feature. But until the next update, the only fix is to uncheck AI wanting to talk to you on their own in the MCM. It's a bit of a bummer, but not quite unplayable.

CaptainKampfkeks Yeah, this would be good I agree. If you get trigger happy with the mouse you can miss the repsonse by clicking too early lol. Be better if the "read my response" option was greyed out until they were ready to talk. But either still all good. Just I cant use the mod at the moment due to the crash.

While on the topic of the next update, might I recommend maybe making it so the text of the NPC's answer persisting while writing the new one? If at all possible, of course. I think that would be a nice little qol thing.

Albert Great, You don't need the diplomacy mod if you want to use AI Influence diplomacy. However, if you want to use regular diplomacy (not AI Influence), disable diplomacy in the mod's MCM settings.

Hello! I saw on discord why I'm crashing and that you said NPC initiative is broken, wait until 3.0. could you add that into the mod description somewhere aswell? I spent a little to long tweaking the settings before I went to your discord for help, lol.

I had a bit of a funny issue, I attempted to talk to an army besieging a town of mine and it brought up an option to capture my own party, and when selected, the game crashed. Everything else was working great, and the issue is avoidable, but quite interesting none the less.

Okay, I totally didn't have Player2 installed. But now I'm having a new issue. The URL is saying it's a bad gateway, used both the Steam and Nexus link to be sure and getting the same results.

@Anthony Yeah, it was bemusing, not gonna lie. Though it left me with the drawback that I couldn't in good conscience hire the guy, and my troops have to suffer for it. Levelling Medicine is a pain.
In a different instance, I just had a disagreement with a companion over my methods on how I resolved a quest, and it turned out we had incongruous differences in opinion, so he left the party. Another companion then analogously called him a short sighted idiot when I told her about it.
Man, I love this mod. This is so peak. I can spend literal hours just chilling somewhere, talking to the npc's and writing the story. Peak cinema.

It's something on your end. Do you have player2 installed and open in the background? If yes and this issue persists, try going into the mod options and test the connection with player2.

Everytime I try talking to someone it says "I am unable to respond right now. Please try again later."

Is the mod broken? Why is this happening?

CaptainKampfkeks, The AI can really "glitch" itself out but its amusing to see. Or sometimes, it may just have its own preference in the world haha. Maybe your Mitanis Ai just genuinely wanted to be a historian scholar lol. Im enjoying winding up Lamcard the shark. His Ai is so obnoxious and annoying. Im on a female character as my first main player died of old age, with 3 daughters. But I finally get him to marry my character, but hes still rude and annoying lol.

im having much fun now :D i've got mod that allows you to build your own settlement, i did it and i asked one of guild members how he feels that he is in this freshly build city, he said that im full of sh*t and this town stood here for generations, trying to tell him that he is false just got me into more trouble, now all gang members, traders and every lord that is coming to this town dislikes me xD

On another note, I just had a funny interaction. One wanderer, Mitanis the Scholar, had his vanilla introduction of being a doctor. He has the medicine skill of 180 to be a doctor. When I talked with him, he insisted to have no knowledge of medicine and be a scholar of history instead. Even when I directly referenced his opening, he called me wrong. And even when I offered to take him along as a scholar instead of a doctor, he refused, stating he is bound to the city.

...I wonder what would happen if I hire him anyway and then ask him why he changed his mind lmao.

Livebait, The AI ​​can't give you items. Only dinars. There are no technical steps yet. Regarding tasks, the AI ​​can't yet create quests that will be visible in the UI. It also doesn't know what tasks it has for you (those answered with "!"), since I can't yet accept quests through conversation. Unfortunately, it's not that easy, but I've already tried.

CaptainKampfkeks in response to delayed reactions when chatting, you have to wait until you see "I am ready to respond notice". If you click "hear response" straight away, they will just talk about the last topic. You need to give it a bit of time to catch up and look out for the notification before clicking to read their reply.

Since your last update, ive been getting crashes again when responding to the "____ wants to talk" popup. When I select talk, it just crahses. This was fixed, but started again after the updated on 27/10

Kind of interesting, I started a conversation with a notable and offered to hunt down nearby bandit camps for 1000 denars. He haggled me down to 500 and off I set. I stopped at a nearby village and asked if they could mark a bandit camp on my map. Took some persuading but eventually they gave me directions (no mark), not sure if the directions were true or just coincidence but i found a camp, defeated it, returned to the original notable. I asked for my reward and he demanded proof, so i told him to examine my prisoners and note the bandit boss in chains. He was satisfied then paid me 500 denars. I then noted he had the 'Gang Members Wanted' mission, so I offered to sell him the prisoners for 350 marks and 10 grain. After more haggling he agreed. Got the 350 marks, prisoners remained in my inventory, I did not receive 10 grain. Conclusion, the ai system does not seem able to interact with units, prisoners, or inventory, but can award marks.

The feature is simply broken. Disable NPC initiative. This will be fixed in the next update.

I seem to encounter the same crash when a companion wants to talk that Meld reported. Just happened to me for the first time. I cannot rule out mod conflict issues, as I've loaded a few.

On another note, I've tried out the other AI chat mod, and still prefer this one, because it doesn't force tts. But it would be nice to have larger windows for longer responses, something that mod managed. You mentioned difficulty in UI modding, might it be an option to take a look at the other mod to see how they did it, maybe with their permission? If not, or if you just don't have the time or interest at this stage of development, that's totally fine, just tossing ideas here.

I have realised the source of my problem: I was an impatient dum-dum. I clicked continue too fast, so the AI didn't process the question yet and answered the previous one instead. I missed the little pop up in the corner.

Also, for others who get the "can't talk right now" answer even though player2 is installed, I found it helps to go to the mod menu and check the connection with player2, then it works.

I've got it running, so that's great. But now I have an odd issue. The answers seem to always be delayed by one inquiry. For example, I had a brief conversation with my companion about a spar we had and my concern over her injuries, and now I asked her about another wanderer we met, but her response was in relation to the last conversation.
Any idea what could cause that?
