You're given a unit—Otto. He's a bomber. You have to lead him to the turret and then run away to avoid getting caught in the explosion.
I try to study historical documents before creating a mission, and then carefully enter my plot. The FG42 was in service since 1942 (the mission takes place in 1940). But I'll take the MG34 into account anyway, thanks!
Hahaha, I'll remove those damn prefixes in square brackets so no one will pick on me.
Regarding the various oddities in the scenarios—for example, Belgian troops (Soviets) in M1, French troops (Germans) in M3, and British troops (Americans) in M4—the effort to match the uniforms as closely as possible made me smile. Using the most basic resources without adding a ton of extra MODs is commendable. Thank you for your clever touches.
For M1, I did notice the weapon crate, but the accuracy difference between submachine guns and rifles in firefights is quite obvious. What I meant was that if there were other scattered weapon crates on the map to search—where you could find something like an MG34 or FG42—it would be even better.
For M3, the Battle of Lille, the scale is really grand. The reason I directly chose the Panzer IV D at the start is because the 37mm gun on the Panzer III clearly lacks killing power. At the same time, choosing the Panzer IV also provides more soldiers and medics, so I didn’t pick the SPG at the beginning.
The troops have grenades, which can easily penetrate the KV. Three or four grenades are enough to knock out and shoot the crew.
Thank you again for your kind words. I try to do everything well, but I don't have enough hands.
4) In the initial dialogue, Franz said that you need to choose a convenient position to shoot the enemy saboteurs who will run to the bridge after pressing the button. You must take up a convenient position for shooting, and then, after pressing the button, shoot all the bombers running towards the bridge. The difficulty is that you have to position yourself so that the British don't see you before you press the button to start the operation.
In the fifth mission, things are not so straightforward; you are given 3 FLAKs. With proper manual control, the enemy Matildas can be repelled (you must first destroy their turrets). The player is deliberately not given time to prepare in order to make the task more difficult. This is also intentional to add difficulty. That's why I say that players shouldn't try to play on hardcore mode, because the normal difficulty level won't let you relax.
Thank you for your detailed review.
Weapon lockers are not provided for in this game. Therefore, I sent a crate of weapons by parachute. In addition to ammunition, it contains rifles and MP-38s. I think you simply did not search this crate. But I took that into account and added more crates in the latest update, which are already scattered across the battlefield.
The second mission ends when the time runs out. Perhaps there is a bug in the game that depends not on me, but on the game engine. It is necessary to replay it.
In the third mission, choosing between tanks and bison as reinforcements is an important decision. Choosing PZ3 and 4 in advance is a losing option, which forces the player to think analytically before calling for reinforcements. I took this into account and added FLAK at the base.
I understood what the problem was, and I tried to fix it.
Do you really think I should add separate weapons for the Belgians and British for a couple of missions at the early stage of this mod? I've done a lot of work in other areas, it's simply not feasible for me to jerk off every little detail. Sorry if the rifle's name in the game or the useless prefix in square brackets next to the unit's name makes this mod unbearable.
M6: The terrain is too rough. British tanks often appear at very strange angles, like showing only the turret from a low ground position to snipe my forces, while my 88mm guns can’t hit them because of angle issues.
1941–1943
M1: Same situation as in the Battle of Lille. When I attacked the enemy’s salient on the left, the enemy received reinforcements from outside the map with a KV-1. My forces had no weapon capable of penetrating it…
Once again, thank you for your MOD mission design. It’s an amazing combination of creativity, but I hope it can be further improved.
This one is very cool, but impossible to clear. My forces only have Panzer III tanks with 37mm guns and one Panzer IV D with a short 75mm gun. After capturing the first defensive line, the French sent three “big guys” that looked like B1 heavy tanks, and I had no weapon capable of penetrating them…
M4: I don’t quite understand what the initial stage is supposed to be. A stealth mission? No throwing knives?
I sniped U.S. soldiers disguised as British troops, and no alarm was triggered? So does that mean the player just has to control the sniper and kill all Allied troops?
But once I click the “Proceed with Action” option in the bottom right, the green allies enter combat mode, then a few Allied soldiers run across the bridge, and the system instantly declares mission failed.
I understand that the designer wanted to recreate certain historical events, but history was based on the efforts of people, while the game is just pure data, which in some cases makes it frustrating.
M1: Capture Eben-Emael
It recreates the German paratroopers having only pistols, but it doesn’t recreate the “weapon lockers.” The player can only use pistols to kill Soviet soldiers disguised as Belgian troops and take their Mosin-Nagants.
M2: The Arras Counterattack
You can experience Rommel’s feeling of “kicking the iron plate,” but after I destroyed several waves of British tank assaults, the mission still didn’t seem to end??
Thanks! Yes, it is intended to make it look as if the planes were shot down by French anti-aircraft guns
IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND! And this applies not only to you, but to everyone. I am not a BWS employee and am not familiar with their working style. The difficulty levels in my mod are done differently, not according to the developers' template.
I tried to make the missions CHALLENGING , and I advise everyone to start with the normal difficulty level.
And yet - had they witnessed it, had "dat prosratsya" been formally addressed in their works — they would have stood centuries ahead of their time. In that moment, they would have reached the very same philosophical altitude as I, humble creator of a barely downloaded mod for GOH.
Thank you for your quiestion, lad!
And, as Camus would say, you, the player, must accept this meaningless fact of the existence of a large number of Mathildas without resorting to suicide or false hope, but instead persevere and rebel, creating your own meaning in life through defence and the realisation that these endless waves of Mathildas are just steel controlled by someone else.
That's quite a philosophical question, my friend. All right, read carefully!
In Russian, there is an elaborate phrase, "dat prosratsya" . If translated literally, it would mean "to let someone to poop". But in this figurative sense, it means to put someone through a very tough or punishing experience — for example, to scold them harshly, discipline them severely, or push them to their absolute limit, often through overwhelming pressure or hard work.
Спасибо, посмотрю
- Added the first mission for the II chapter.
- Fixed ammo issue in the second mission with Matilda tanks
@Dedieu
@Potatoandbeans1945,
You've really made me think about rebalancing the first mission. Thanks
Still feel like Machineguns either heavy or light would of been nice along with converting some of the Rifleman infantry into SMG infantry so they can actually resupply from the supply box. (also a spare medic to be able to revive each other.)
Another one is just more enemy types like SMG and LMG infantry.
Last and frankly for myself Idc to much about is why don't we control historic paratroopers the fallschirmjägers or how ever you call em.
Thank you for reading my comments.

Thank you, Comrade Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR!
The ability to strike a perfect balance between historical accuracy and gameplay is perhaps a gift from above.
I fell into a trap while trying to complete this operation in the game, as 85 German paratroopers kicked the asses of more than 1,000 Belgian soldiers .
To make this mission historically realistic, you would have to send all the Belgians into dugouts, as they decided to do 85 years ago, instead of fighting back against the Germans, and force the player to throw grenades at them, but that would also be exhaustingly boring .
To make it less pathadic grind , I could add Tiger tanks airdrop from planes, but that's unrealistic.
I tried to strike a balance. I'll take this point into consideration. I would indeed make this mission easier for the normal difficulty level.
