@catfoodbob Fixed that in this update.

@davadin Thank you!

I don't tend to play with mods, but I just wanted to say that from first glance- this looks like a very cool idea that you've put to plan. So cheers!

The carrion fey horses mr is kinda terrible, cause just, their horses are just gonna get banished out from under them.

@psdoffer I would absolutely pay the 10g price hike over Daoine Sidhe for enc 0 and the increased mapmove, never mind the sleep vines, pierce res, and extra HP. There's also some extra natprot and strength at the cost of -1 att/def. And while undead and magic being are primarily negative traits, inanimate is mostly a positive one - it makes you vulnerable to Shatter, but it also immunises you against a lot of things.

Like, just adding the sleep vines is huge, that thing makes three attacks per round and inherits weapon blesses. Slap Unholy Weapons on and you've solved enemy sacreds forever.

Nice spritework. I really like Fir Bolg Soldiers especially.

I would say carrion sidhe cost bit too much. Undead, magic being and inanimate are all pretty negative traits overall (enabling lots of counterplay). Not sure what they gain justifies paying 5 more over ea living version.

@Ddraig Lleuad
First question, it was an oversight, I have forgotten Man has the chorus spells. But I would say it makes sense the witches no longer have access to such a magic due to the Curse. While they are longer actively effected, they still lost much magic in that time. So I'll add a lore tidbit specifying as such in the next update.

Second point, I will also fix that in the next update, had forgotten the different ages between animals.
Ddraig Lleuad 9 月 11 日 下午 10:30
Couple points. First is one of curiosity; is it intentional that the nation doesn't have access to MA Man's chorus communions? It's just kind of odd to see it not acknowledged at all, so I'm wondering if the oversight is not having the spell, or not having any lore for how the knowledge was lost/suppressed.

Second: when Fir Bolg Elders shapechange into their animal shapes as deer, hawks, or kelpies, the unit retains the age it was recruited at, but its max age is determined by its current shape, so a druid can go from one stack of old age in Fir Bolg form, to SIX in deer form. You might wanna do something about that :P

Also fixed the Carrion Fay Horse to be sacred

@Jam_and Toast

I did not make them as an MA nation, they had always been intended as an LA nation. The witches having their schemes seemed like a natural progression of their lore if I was going to implement them into the nation. Other LA nations also have goals and plans even though this is the last age (in game) so I thought, why not?

In terms of encumbrance and map move that was an oversite. In terms of upkeep, think of the Carrion Sidhe as like the mummies of Nazca. The gold they get is like a tribute, or maybe as mindful undead who once were living Sidhe they still want a wage.

For the Sagittarians of Asphodel, unfortunately the reanim priest ability for manikins is tied directly to Asphodel. As far as I know, if I want them to reanimate manikins I can't separate that from the Asphodel reanim.

Now for them having recuperation, I just copied that from the existing carrion units.
Jam_and_Toast 9 月 11 日 下午 2:51
Also, recuperation doesn't work on lifeless units. If you want your carrion Sidhe to heal afflictions over time you're going to need to give somebody corpsestitcher.
Ddraig Lleuad 9 月 11 日 上午 10:00
Yeah being encumbrance 0 is kind of an iconic feature of a lot of undead, I think literally the only unit with the undead tag and an encumbrance over 0 is MA Sceleria's Shadow Vestals, whose lore has them as Only Mostly Dead. The high mapmove comes from being able to march night and day, and is also pretty ubiquitous - most undead have a mapmove of 18-22, anything 16 or less is like, shambling zombies or the Twiceborned version of belly-crawling Aboleths.

That said, both of these are pretty powerful traits, so they do warrant some care for balancing.
Jam_and_Toast 9 月 11 日 上午 9:05
I like this nation a lot; the Fir Bolg don't get enough attention in the base game and this nation does them justice as the focus of a nation in their own right. Were they originally designed as an MA nation? I like that the remaining witches are being set up as a subversive force, but it seems strange for an LA nation with nowhere else to go.

Two more things: the undead Sidhe are dissimilar from other undead in that they have encumbrance, upkeep, and relatively low map move. Eire's manikin reanimation can still produce Sagittarians. Were these intentional design choices on your part? If not, since the only other nation that has Sagittarians is MA you could easily mod them to better fit Eire without consequence.

Bug: the carrion fay horse of the carrion sidhe lord is not sacred.

You generally have an awful lot of leeway for how potent size 3 troops can be, statwise. Prot, HP, and damage are just incredibly important stats, and there are limits to how high they can reasonably scale on a human-scale unit. Like, LA is the era of Grove Guard, Warbred, Savaran Guard, Gittites, Shark Warriors, Jotun Hirdmen, Einheres, Ice Guard, and ANDRAMANIA - and not all of those units are even considered good enough to make their respective nations be considered strong. Jomon is generally reckoned to be on the weak side! Go look at how dangerous Go-Hatamoto are! You can buff the fir bolg, it'll be fine.
spire69  [作者] 9 月 8 日 下午 8:45
@Hajduk I think you're right. Originally I had thought maybe the units were a bit strong, but then looking at other similar troops I have realized that's not really true. I have also added a bit to their health and strength since I also realized they're quite expensive for what they are.
Hajduk 9 月 7 日 下午 5:36
I like a lot about this nation, and it fits in well with vanilla, but I'm not sure about how limited the recruitment is. You basically cannot recruit any national units in non-mountain forts. I don't believe that is true of any other nation in the game? My recommendation is to make all of the Fir Bolg troops recruitable in any fort, regardless of terrain type, and limit foreign recruitment to just mountains/highlands.
Ddraig Lleuad 9 月 7 日 下午 4:35
Yeah the Elf PR department has a pretty good benefits package. You do have to mind your P's and Q's though, HR are sticklers for etiquette, and you gotta pack your own lunches. Cafeteria rights are for lifetime employees, one way or the other.
ChillyKahlil 9 月 7 日 下午 2:44
you guys have contracts?!
JJ "Mayo" Knock-out 9 月 7 日 下午 1:14
I am contractually obligated to oppose more elves. And also to swing my axe at them.

They're separate contracts.
isiarca 9 月 6 日 下午 2:46
I am not contractually obligated to support More Elves, but do so for pure love of the game.
