You're probably not a member of the XCOM 2 Modding Discord, then. If you trust me so little, then perhaps you'd feel safer using a public link? The invite link is posted in various places on different XCOM resources, such as the XCOM 2 modding reddit. This way you don't have to trust my link. Once you're in, scroll down to the "Projects" Channel and then the "releases-updates-previews" subtopic. From there, find the topic for Advent Angels.

@Andrei Cineva: Thanks for the appreciation, I'm glad you're looking forward to seeing her. I am, too! Though the Captain can start, we'll need more support to finish it, but that's to be expected during this lull between the model releases. I would expect it to pick back up once the trooper's released.

@Ember: I'm glad I've converted you. ;) The waist size is a bit of a taboo to touch, as changing it will completely break modularity with other mods. So, it's just one of those things that is. We've tried to balance the models around that, to keep them as impressive as possible without contrasting the set-in-stone waist too much. Sure, you could DM me some lore in Discord. The SFW lore should be similar to the Steam mod description. We could add entries for the UFOpedia, and other places.

@Serek/Soul/Ember: I hear you that the trooper should be closer to the concept's thickness. I got caught up in getting the armor panels sculpted right that I forgot to review the body's shape thoroughly enough. I'm thankful that you all pointed that out. I've already relayed the feedback and my modeler is already working on the adjustment. :)

Both RRA and Advent Angels have been updated! Once you update RRA, you’ll now see Angels in the Bestiary (UFOpedia) according to your MCM settings when RRA is enabled.

Those using the OPTC fallback were already seeing Angels there, so no changes were needed - but since OPTC is such a heavy-handed approach, it’s great that RRA can now handle it gracefully. :)

@JM_Vegan: That’s a brilliant idea, and potentially really complicated, too - but it ended up being surprisingly easy to pull off. RustyDios’s Bestiary emits an event when a unit is visualized, and RRA was built so cleanly that it just snapped right into place to reskin those units automagically. Huge props to RustyDios for the solid bestiary code and UI, he did an amazing job on that mod! It is SO nice!

Advent Angels RRA reskinning in the bestiary is already working in my dev build and will roll out once it’s polished. Thanks again for the idea!

Sorry to disturb again! In the ufopedia mod, there's a bestiary section where you can screen (see the model) every type of alien and advent you have discovered... it's inside de avenger. Wouldn't ot be nice if you could screen your version of advent instead of the original one?

It's not my place to judge at all actualy.
I realise im looking for badass armour for intimidation and protection first.
But after reading your work with my partner, you are going for horny first.

@JM_Vegan: That’s actually intentional, not a bug. For now, the Troopers in the intro shell are temporarily replaced with Stunlancers so players can see the Angels right from the main menu while the Trooper is still being finished. You’ll still see vanilla Captains, so it’s not replacing every Advent - just a temporary showcase feature.

@Ember: I’d hold judgment until she’s textured - the sculpt phase can make armor feel lighter than it actually is once materials and shading are applied.

There is a bug/issue with the mod shells i have at the star of the game. Whenever an advent is displayed in the intro shell (whatever kind of advent) is replaced always for the angel stunlancer.

@Templar: This mod is a work in progress. All of the information about that progress is already available - it’s just spread across the proper places. The mod description and Lineup Status discussion list the current and upcoming models, and I’ve also posted sneak peeks on Patreon for anyone who wants more in-depth details.

I even mentioned it in the Troubleshooting thread, since that’s often where people check when they think something’s missing. Nothing SFW is behind a paywall or malfunctioning - it’s all public if you take a quick look. 🙂

@Andrei Cineva: It works on the tactical layer for matinee (cutscene) units. Those are the cutscenes used for unit reveals, for instance, which are 3D meshes being animated in real-time. It wouldn't affect any pre-recorded video assets used by the game. I would suspect things like the Shadow Chamber cutscenes are pre-recorded videos. They might have some of those on the tactical layer, too, for all I know.

I suppose, once the Trooper Angels are out, we won't be seeing them in the regular cutscenes, like that victory cutscene, for instance, where civvies neutralise that command post guarded by Troopers. Does skinning work for regular cutscenes too or just missions?

@Xeladon: That was my fault, sorry! I forgot that I rearranged the materials for the new heads/hair workflow, necessitating a new DLC upload. The workflow hides the body part materials by index, so the old/new mismatch is causing the wrong materials to get hidden. I've just now uploaded the new DLC file, please redownload and update.

The paid patreon dlc isn't working for the Stunlancer, if I select the NSFW option in the mod config, the mods blue suits disappear and there's only floating heads, however if I change it back to the "Enabled" option it works and it loads the SFW model.
I've followed the provided instructions and even started a new campaign just to be safe. The logs don't seem to show any errors from what I could tell and I am using the latest version of both mods. (I've just purchased the dlc yesterday)

@Floridaman: Thanks! I’m really glad you like the sculpt - I’m excited about it too. I might consider subtle marks like the neck spots, though I’ve always pictured the Angels as specially engineered specimens where human fidelity was pushed to the limit… for reasons that are, let’s say, mission-effective.

@Khumak: Yeah, the Trooper felt like the logical next step - they’re the backbone of Advent’s forces. You should start seeing the Stunlancers by your second or third mission, and once the Troopers come online, the Angels will be making earlier cameos than ever.

Trooper definitely makes sense as the next update since there are so many of them. I haven't run into any of the modded units yet in my campaign but looking forward to see some. Gooner mode activated :)

The Trooper sculpt looks great, excellent work. For the heads, you could look at the hybrid heads from Jsleezy's Repurposed Gear mods. Two of them are just masks but one is a mostly human head with some Skirmisher-like ridges which may fit for a "mostly human" look.

Even with the Speaker has those spots on his neck to show he's a hybrid, so I'd expect the Angels to have a giveaway too. Maybe they still have those Skirmisher hybrid eyes, not in size or shape but the glowy look instead of the normal human eye. There's an option for that in the Eyextender mod, alongside cyborg and "elf" eyes.

Of course, that's just me spitballing.

@Soul: Thanks! A lot of time went into that update - spawning heads and bolting them down is trickier than it sounds. At least, it is for me. At your request, I’ve made the image, check it out!

A bit more on the feature: I’m spawning random human heads. Making new alien ones isn’t in scope - and frankly, Advent’s standard faces look like the gene lab gave up halfway through the job. The Angels, on the other hand, look like someone in gene-therapy finally asked, “What if we didn’t terrify the locals?” Let’s just say the propaganda department’s morale metrics probably skyrocketed after these deployments.

Right now I’m only spawning Kexx’s double-buns (requires Kexx’s Hair Pack), but I plan to expand it with an .ini-customizable hair pool for the helmetless Angels. Helmeted ones will stay locked to a sensible choice to avoid clipping.

There is a mod that gives the Skirmishers pretty faces and hair, the hair works for Exvent, but they are still fugly. (still would though)

you know if you have problem with voices, you can just take them from xcom chimera , they have female secoid there and advent too(also a mutons)
