I didn't find any gunfire bugs or sound bugs, but most of the units' guns were gone. They raised their empty hands, aimed, and fired normally.

uh yeah, as @hoangngandeptrai said enemy AI ship have more range than we do, Hell even double time than i do, im only have 2 mod = extended camera minimap and bakumatsu so ime sure the error is coming from bakumatsu, could be any chance that the error only effected to only us only?

You should remove the melee and traditional units. Keep only gunpowder units ingame.

Again though, no idea if this is a problem with the base game, my mod or mods you have activated.I did say again though that I have not touched stats of naval units. Naval Units are untouched minus upkeep, that's the only thing changed.

In my gameplay, I have had no issues with the AI ship, so I'm not sure what could be causing it or if its even the fault of my mod too.

bajiwolf Then i hope your improve this error mate , cause 10/10 i sail my ships to fight the naval battles , even with the highest tier vessel like ironclad with the range of 1000 , i still have to get them close to the A.I ship which somehow shoot first 2- 3 times at my ships from an incredible far range , this whole campaign my coastal settlements have been bombarded likehell and i can not do anything about it , even with the access to ironclad , ironplated vesels research

I haven't touched anything except upkeep when in regards to ships. I've only ever really touched land units in terms of stats so I have no idea why that's the case, and if its more of a problem with the mod, base game FOTS or another mod you have

the mod is rigged , the firing range of my navy always is shorter than that of the A.I . i have to get my ships closer to them to shoot the first volley , by that time the enemy ships have already shot 3 -4 volleys on me , even with the ironclad and highest tier vessel , it is same problem . 10 OUT OF TEN , I lose the naval battles and let them bombarding the ♥♥♥♥ out of my building in game so W . T .F

On weapon ranges: Using effective ranges as max range would mean that bows would have 40m range. Probably even shorter during FOTS, as bows grew weaker during the long period of peace.

Japanese themselves deemed that Tanegashimas (replicate matchlock arquebus) had effective range of ~100 yard effective range. More technologically advanced guns of 1860s would surely hhave longer ranges. Like how average engagement range during Gettysburg was 200 yards.

@Tacticalghost1989 150 for civil war engagments is a completely random number pulled out of nowhere lmao. And do you know how skirmishing worked? We arent talking about line infantry shooting at each other, but harrasment using skirmish tactics. And you apparently have no idea what an effective range is. Make it 1000 in the game for all you want, its here for fun, but dont falsify history or mislead people because you want to feel better about yourself

Just more of a gameplay thing rather than historical thing, sharpshooters have a range of 200 in order to have a justifiable reason in a way to use them over line infantry.

The 150 range is also to make melee units more obsolete and to match its range with bows which retain the range of 150.

It's not over the top at all. The average engagement distance during the civil war was 150 yards, with skirmishing occuring at roughly 300 yards.

150-200 range is way over the top. We arent looking at maximum range of guns, but their effective range. Even the effective range of an AK is around 100m

Happy to hear, happy to also hear you're enjoying the mod, although even in Vanilla melee infantry should not decimate modern infantry since most times I found modern infantry were capable of killing melee before they even get the chance to approach.

But this mod does make this change much more prevalent and makes them actually hold their own in melee too

Much needed mod. i could never get into FOTS due to melee units DECIMATING my modern infantry. And i refused to use samurai in 1860 cuz this is the closest we get to Empire 2. Thank you for your service, you made me very happy.

Unfortunately I doubt it would be compatible with Darthmod due to the unit changes. It's considered an overhaul and usually you don't place overhauls together. Haven't tested but you can try.

Expect lots of things to break though

Sounds great! Love the changes. Is it compatible with Darthmod? Would love to have non numbnut the AI using these features in battle.
