The new content is certainly good and interesting, but so far the biggest headache of the game is loneliness =)
I've looked at the internals of the game and seen how the project is, trust me, they're doing their best, i would have lost my mind years ago if i was working on Stationeers because Unity is well, Unity xD
truth is i could learn a thing or 2 from rocketwerkz :D
Also Kentucky, you don't need to use PTT, have looked at the config? or read the steam mod page?
there's a continuous transmission mode toggle in the config :)

The situation is as follows:
When I first start a server with this mod, everything is fine. My friend connects and plays. However, as soon as I restart the server, my friend won't join until I connect a backup world WITHOUT this mod, with the mod disabled on the server itself. However, when my friend can't join, I can still connect to the server without any problems.
I have two PCs, so I connect to the server not via a LAN connection, but via the internet and ports.
Any ideas what this could be?
Additionally: if I simply disable the mod my friend won't join the server either, only unless I MANDATORY extract the world from a backup where this mod has never been used.
Switched fully to Unity for microphone capture and processing and we no longer need steam, meaning anyone with a DRM free copy can also use this mod.
Fixed delay and improved performance.
improved audio situation and made it so that hearing the radio in a vacuum is more of a feature than a bug.
reworked a bunch of systems to align with the change.
bumped version to 1.6.0
known bugs:
When ever a radio is spawned for the first time it throws a null reference error. this is fine and only happens once, the mod will still work as regular.

you're absolutely correct, dunno how that didn't occur to me.
you're aware the helmets are already battery powered?
Also a suggestion - For communcation in vacuums, have a slot for radios inside the helmet, so the player can communicate while outside. Also if there was an option for the player to start with a radio in their helmet with a small battery, it would make the communcation early game easier.
- SPC SET command is behaving strangely while the server is a client host.
- Can hear people in vacuum on radios.. this is because of my recent implementation of using our own mixer. Note this only effects Radios.
- Noticeable Audio issues on big worlds with a lot of heavy calculations, Threads.. Threads..

I do have other mods and I'm wondering if they're not interacting somehow, though I'd find it strange as I don't have any other mods that edit the locker kit. Let me know how I can help you debug this and I'd be happy to send you whatever you need.
I checked the locker kit and found the radio storage in there, can you make sure the mod loaded?
do you have any other mod items, radio and tower?
Whilst i have no plans to add TTS as a part of this mod, i wouldn't mind making a separate TTS mod.

Fixed static clip was not playing.
Fixed Audio Multipliers not preserving their previous state on restarts.
Added configurable global audio volume for radio and human voice, adjustable via config file or new console commands: SPC SET Value Target - (e.g., SPC SET 10 Radio or Human).
Enabled Morse code
Fixed Radio Storage clipping out of bounds.
Switched all audio sources to a custom audio mixer for enhanced sound quality and effects. Please report any audio issues.

Previously the tower took the setting value and (x) by 15 to determine power usage which meant that for a signal of 250 Meters, it would use around 3750 + Basepower.
With this update power consumption has been decreased, 250 Meters will now only use 750W + Basepower.
