Something about this mod causes the UI to dissapear anytime theres someof the things on the map.

the mod needs to calm down. im playing naked brutality on adventure difficulty. first to third wave is a simple megathrip. fourth is one megascarab and 2 swarmlings..pretty chill..fifth is 3 swarmlings and a spedelopede..sounds like a fun difficulty curve till i saw that the fifth wave also includes..a Empress..how?

You can disable any event from ever happening when you set up your scenario (apart from some badly coded mod ones but shouldnt be an issue here). I cant look at it right now but it should be something akin to disable event or disable quest and then VFE_infectedchunk or infected crash or whatever. Disabling it mid save may be a little trickier. MAYBE using the Cherrypicker mod you can edit it, since that allows some more settings, but i havent checked.

I have to agree with Gragyriss here, I am getting nothing but infested chunks every other event now covering the land, the event chance is way too high and they are obnoxious to deal with as you can't deconstruct them, you have to shoot them. This is so badly designed and implemented. I can't even remove it as I am hours into this game. There is no option to even disable them in the mod options as far as I know too. It's just bad.

Remove infected chunk crash or im making you watch me harvest your family! Its:
Annoying when it happens, like WHY, WHY DOES IT ALWAYS HIT MY DUCKING FARMLAND AND WIND TURBINES!?
Annoying to fight, its always like 300 bugs, scattered across the entire map
Immersion breaking, ALL THE CHUNKS LOOK THE SAME!, WHY DO THEY ALL EMERGE AT THE SAME TIME!?, HOW DID THEY SURVIVE THE CRASH!?
And as the cherry on top, THERES LITTLE TO NO REWARD FOR PUTTING UP WITH THIS ANNOYING SHET!!!
Like seriously, I love this mod, and all the other stuff you guys do, but ♥♥♥♥ this event in particular. Its making me want to remove the mod. Please please PLEASE either remove it, rework it, or give us a way to disable it. it sucks SO BAD.

Am I the only one having trouble fighting hives? First, I can't destroy an existing hive. I also can't destroy a hive that was created as a result of a failed mission, nor can I destroy a developing hive. I've cleared the entire hive map, cleared every infected cell, but it doesn't help. I tried playing a new save and immediately dealing with developing hives, and the same thing happened. I'd come back, completely destroy all the bugs and all their buildings, and the mission would fail, leaving a hive. I thought it was a build issue or a mod conflict. I started testing with developer mode, but nothing worked. I also tested in vanilla, and the same problem persisted.

would need to make a clean game to verify its not a mod conflict but atm the ironclad insects on losing their armour they also lose the pigment set on them via player hive.

I did actually figure out how to forbid the jelly from the colonist foodstuffs, thanks. I did not think to leave some corpses for the insects, will have to get a fridge mod. But I'm interested in that jelly sack thing because how do I do that that sounds awesome! I did have an insector but I only had him because he could just walk into infested areas and pick up the jelly, which was really the only way I even got the jelly to build the hive in the first place. Thanks

@Questforben If you find that your bugs and colonists eat the jelly too much, try making a corpse stockpile in the insects' allowed area so they eat those. bonus points if you have a fridge mod or something else cold accessible so the corpses dont rot. for your colonists, you should be able to remove eating insect jelly by going into their assigned food policy and editing it. you can uncheck insect jelly so anyone with that food policy will not eat jelly. Lastly, it may behoove you to try and get an insector (i think its those guys?) and have them adapt into having jelly sacks so your colonists can produce jelly too. potentially you can extract that gene and put it on prisoners, if youre into that.

I'd like to make an addendum to my last comment. I have noticed that it spawns the glow pods which can be deconstructed for 10-15 jelly each. Meaning that it takes significantly less time and micromanaging to actually develop a hive. Would still be nice if the jelly spawned as forbidden and more frequently/numerously, however the glow pods thing is fine, I suppose

The basic hives make a quite frankly uselessly small amount of jelly. I was hoping I could start as an insectoid dude and have him farm the hives and stuff, and after spending like 40 in game days struggling to get enough of the jelly, I get 2 a day (maybe even less because I rarely even see it drop) and the bugs eat that jelly. I'm going to try and leave some extra food for them so that they don't eat the jelly and I can nab it, but even then my colonists will usually eat it before I even know it's dropped. It would be nice if it dropped as automatically off limits, or maybe if it dropped more because frankly seeking out a hive infested area and going in to nab the jelly is so difficult that by the time you can make a hive and jelly farm with it, the hive is functionally useless.

Sometimes the event "Members of the hive leave" occurs and all the beetles go into the "pets" category, which is why they cannot be controlled directly, how can I fix this??

Apparently the issue isn't only with real ruins. My insectoids are also losing the connection with hives after sometime and I can't figure out which mod is causing the problem(I don't use real ruins). (Side not my hives are also spawning random insectoids alongside the designated ones. Anyone else having this issue?

Plz help, people! "Hive insects are leaveing" message suddenly for no purpose. After it insects become part of my animal tab and refuse maintain hives. I am desperate to find what is wrong, saw some similiar questions like this but no one had an answer.

Love the mod, I have a suggestion that might help with performance on hive only play though. Can you have it where creep can eat rotten corpses so that they don't just sit there waiting for your main colonist to either bury or burn them.

only now noticed that creep doesnt seem to be able to generate on gravship floors, wanted to make a flying hive but i guess not

it would be great if we could support the insectoids to move outside their nest map. Currently, they can only passively defend and cannot go out to attack, which is really quite useless.:steamfacepalm:

@Rocky it says right up there in the description that no, they cannot be in a caravan. Leaving the map separates them from the hive. It's explained in the image at the head of "Player-built hives."

Could you please elaborate what counts as an explosive for destroying insect burrows?
Apparently, antigrain with its 'BombSuper' damage type does not count, so does the Diablous' cannon with 'Vaporize' damage type.

Kanquat as far as I know when insectoids leave the place or some ♥♥♥♥ they stop being a part of the hive and turn into normal ♥♥♥♥♥♥ insectoids which is kinda dumb

Would you be willing to consider making this more compatible with Oddessy? It looks like right now the creep doesn't work with gravship substructure - and even when there's creep over the substructure buildings can't be built on it.
