What triggers the Officer research? Because I'm not getting it. I have my candidate with a lot of accumulated SP waiting to get the class. I hope it's not dependent on Jericho- almost none in sight in my current game and friendship 1%.

Oh .... Sry! My "Officer class" was still in development. Got completed few game hours later and then ammo could be made. So starting with Sophia as officer can give a little confusion. My bad.

Hi, by any chance could the mod be configured to allow officers to spawn naturally and deploy more than one for a challenge run?

I'm not sure what could be causing a conflict (other than maybe the option to unlock all classes from the start?), but the 80-in-1 mod barely works on its own so it's not surprising that it doesn't work with other mods.

Unless you play with the tutorial every time then I'd also recommend using and configuring my "Custom Starting Squad" mod so that you can use an Officer (Sophia) from the start.

Rebooting didn't work. It seems to be in conflict with the 80-in-1 mod, because when I have that mod disabled, this one enables normally.

I'm getting the following error when trying to enable this mod:
Could not enable mod 'Officer Class'

The only other mods I have installed are your XP Overflow mod and the 80-in-1 mod. I have tried unsubscribing and resubscribing already only to end up with the same generic error. I'm going to try rebooting my Steam Deck and see if that fixes it and I'll report back.

People making more classes for this game is a step in the right direction as far as the modding scene's concerned. Classes, enemy types, vehicle types; things of this nature add insane longevity to a game. Just check out XCOM 2's workshop with all the original content people have added to the game, all inspired by its actual lore.

PDW unlock question retracted, I just now realized it's part of the Officer Training research that this mod adds. I found this RIGHT AFTER I had activated the 3 closest bases to my starting, so I'm still approaching the next development buildup before I'm ready to activate a few more and actually police their areas

What do you mean? New Jericho already have 2 PDWs which get used by the Technician (the default Gauss one and the piercing upgrade)

So far I like the changes you have made to the original TFTV classes. In original TFTV you do not want to have perks that give you will points because of umbras and delirium in general. This makes TFTV pretty much grenade/rocket/spider drone cheese fest because you can not use the special abilities of your soldiers (I do not like mutations or augmentations that much as a concept). This mod makes will points more important, at least for assault class. New Jericho for the win!

No, there's no requirement to have Sophia and Jacob from the start. The issues you described sound like TFTV issues.

I wanted to ask if this mod needs the default squad (Sophia and Jacob) enabled (TFTW)? I tried this with random named squad and strange shit started to happen during the game play. The Pure and Forsaken for example never appeared. The Pandoran evoluation was lagging behind much more than normally, Acheron died from one grenade shot when he fell from the roof, paralyzed worms became "invisible" (they were shown grey on the hud) and you could not hit them with neutralizer again.

@Cerebralcloud92: It's shown in the mod's screenshots and explained in the FAQ. I even imply it in the description where I mention the motivation behind creating the new class.

While I'm contemplating adding some config options to let people tweak things, I'm unlikely to add a config option for that as it would pretty much defeat the purpose of the class/mod.

Huh, it's not mentioned here that Onslaught is removed from Assaults. Not a design change that I enjoy, but I can understand why it was done. Would it at all be possible to introduce config edits that allow Assaults to keep Onslaught, either the vanilla version or the Officer's modified version? Will mention though, I do love the change of Snipers going from Mark For Death to Deadeye.

@wargamesmaster Hmmm.. interesting. I have a few logs that should post ("Enabling Officer Class mod" and "Officer class mod enabled", the latter assuming it finishes all of the changes) when the game first launches and the mods are loaded, so if you're not getting any post in the console nor an error message saying it couldn't enable the mod then it doesn't sound like the game's even loading it.

The only things I can really suggest for that are to verify game files and unsub/resub to the mod to see if you're missing anything.

Just checked the logs, nothing about the Mod. I guess it's really one of the latest updates that screwed up Mod compatibility or something.

Or maybe it's something on my PC, I don't know... I won't send anymore messages, good luck finding the issue (if there's one).

The only Mods I've ever used with games I bought on Steam are the ones available through the "Steam Workshop" and I actually haven't checked the logs, I'll do this when I can.

Have you previously used any mods from Nexus?

I'm not asking you to use console commands: are there any message logs from this mod in the console after you launch the game?

The Officer Mod is the only one I have, I have every DLC (activated of course) and I don't use console commands to cheat.

"isn't working as intended" doesn't help...

Do you run other mods? If so, which? Are they working fine? Have you omitted some DLC on your campaign (not that this should make a difference)? If you open the console after launching the game, do you get any output logs from this mod?

It is enabled, I also tried again today, same result. No signs of the Mod.

So I repeat myself, the Mod isn't working as intended. I don't know if it's a recent game update or something else but there's no signs of the Officer class when I play as needed to even research it.

Yes I'm sure, I subscribed to the Mod and chose the option to start the game with Mods. Hell, I even saved and quit & restarted the game just to be sure Steam didn't just messed with me.

@wargamesmaster Well I've just tested it both with TFTV and without by starting a new campaign and reactivating the required number of bases: it worked both times.

Just to be extra sure, I also tried saving and closing the game between activating bases and it still worked as intended.

Are you sure you've enabled the mod?

The first thing I did is ensuring the game starts with Mods, then I reactivated 3 bases and with the one I started with, that makes 4 bases in my possession.

Either the Mod doesn't work as intended or people need to have more than 4 bases total.

@wargamesmaster I'll spoiler it since some might prefer finding out themselves: You need to reactive 3 bases after the mod is enabled. It does not count existing bases.

I do not have the option to research the class at all, I just started with the one officer
