(it may be helpful to know of any other mods running when you encounter this bug. This mod largely unlocks the feature already present in the game for sea people outposts - so it may be that the issue you are seeing is from other mods.)

Even when I deactivate the mod and start the next turn after doing so, the unusable forts still appear, in charge by an entirely dead faction as empty plots of land where I should be able to build outposts.

This mod is saying factions still exist and that I'm at war with them when I kill their faction AND take out their remaining forts; meaning I can't build on these outpost areas even if there's nothing left of their faction.

I played through an entire campaign with it and it worked fine for me. Not every mod needs an update after every hotfix CA does.

Erm shouldn't. This came out with the main version of high tides, anynhitfix since will not impact the mod. I can look to update it when I'm back from holidays

Thats kinda sad, because that gives the player a big advantage. Imagine the AI conquers one of your settlements and your fort garrison survives. The AI then is going to ignore the fort (which is still owned by the player) and when you try to conquer that region back you get supported by that fort. The AI is also unable to build a fort of their own in that region, as long as yours exist.

@Xanth - yeah thats what I highlighted in the AI quirk. base game bug that can't be fixed as far as I am aware :(

I've seen it a few times by now, that the AI conquers land from another AI and then there is a fort of another faction in that region. But the AI seems to completely ignore foreign forts in their new region, never attacking them.

Especially if a faction gets wiped out, its forts remain on the map and you have to declare war on this dead faction, to be able to attack the fort.

If you have an outpost in an ai factions territory. It seems to not be aware it is there and so, will ignore it.

"Unfortunately, there seems to be some odd AI behaviours. Looks like they may ignore your outposts if they are not in your own regions. As such, doing this for non-garrison structures may end up just breaking outposts for the AI." I'm not sure I completely understood this part, can you explain it to me again in other words?

Great mod! I absolutly love it that its no longer able to destroy the Fort garrison by conquering the settlement, this should be vanilla imho.

Great idea, this ought to be in vanilla. It'd provide incentive for players/factions to go around and actually visit some of these places for a battle to take place as well.

So, it's when i post i found the solution... I feel dumb but I keep my comment so if anyone have the same "problem", it's simply that :
When the fort is destroyed (or when the build order is not finish), your army can claim the location. Tada ! Nothing more to do.

I have an issue ;
I conquer the last city of a faction. This faction was building a fort, but when i conquer the city it was not finish. The enemy fort stay in construction. Next turn it was build, i besiege it. Then i raze it but the slot is always to the faction, even it's been destroyed and doesn't exist anymore. So basically a waste slot for my region. Anyway to resolve this situation ?


The next turn after i take the city and it say the faction was destroyed, so when the fort was build, i wasn't consider in war with this faction. I must declare war again. It's likely it was a new faction...

Brilliant idea here, and it makes better sense in how these outposts would work in real life. Great balance of immersion with game play!
