Probably not as IDT is a more serious brand that what we were doing at the time we made this locomotive. I am probably going to put in some other fun details though when new IDT products launch
it generates smoke particles as spheres and assigns them different sizez, opacities and velocities depending on randomness as well as train speed resulting in the animation. The script implementation for this mainly consists of data manipulation within an array structure if I remember correctly.
I am not sure what you are to saying. All controllers in thes build are internally structured with different modules the locomotive requires to work. Unfortunately theres no grouping or labeling in stormworks so that's all im gonna do in terms of structure. Functionality comes first here at IDT

Just tried it with the latest version of both the TC v2 container wagon and the EEM using your setup and it worked fine. The container wagon has had an update as I noticed I messed up something in the release but still that shouldn't have prevented it from working. The electric cables are only required for the audio passthrough so you don't need to connect them for this. TC v2 works fine without them.
We have since released some new wagons so you might give them a try and let me know if you face similar problems.

Not sure if I understand your problem correctly. The connectors (to couple the wagons) do have power as long as the "coupl power" in the "-util-" menu is active (which it is by default), The driving mode of multiple TC v2 compatible shunters synchronizes automatically so the diesel still starts fine when multiple are connected. (All of the above mentioned was tested right before sending this reply)
Are all wagons/locomotives of your train TC v2 compatible? They need to be for everything to function as intended or you need to manually turn off the TC system for the front or back coupling in the "-util-" screen. (I assumed you used oselotti2's container wagon from the TC playlist as it is the only compatible cargo wagon out at the time of this comment ;) and that one worked fine for my test just now)
