So there was an update a few months ago that now have built in multipliers for research costs/gains, if you ever get back to this, may want to look into that, maybe make a new mod that is up to date to current versions of FU.

... I THINK this works? I got the warning for extra research, and I believe it WAS faster than usual. Still I didn't actually count, but the game didn't crash so...

Switched to the one that effectively removed research, didn't enjoy it, found myself going back to this one as it doesn't remove research entirely.

It may be noted though if frackin universe updates the research system any at any time, this'll need to be updated. The madness.lua gets replaced with this one so while nothing at the core has been changed, I thought I should mention here for people in the future.

A version of this without going afk pausing research gain would be amazing. Sometimes we have stuff we need to do irl and don't want to close the game either because it resets the research bonus or we're coming back in a bit. Sayter doing something so asinine and unnecessary to give those of us with lives and families to take care of a big fat middle finger like that is just par for the course for a bottom feeder like him. Just because he has no life doesn't mean the rest of us don't.

It is possible make a multiplier research rate? Like a 5x or even 10x passive research.

YES, all my yes. I hate how every time you take a challenge door or have to duck to your ship, there goes almost two minutes worth of 2-4 research points down the drain (that's 60-500 research worth!). I always felt that 1.5 minute rule was just stupid. It punishes people for using the challenge doors and travelling between planets.

Sayter is almost undeserving of the service you provide them with this mod. The research system was originally put in place so you learn recipes one after another and have time to check out what new things you can craft more easily than how it used to be.
It then became a huge gatekeeping thing for some reason and kinda completely sucks the fun out of fu. I honestly thought about dropping fu so many times because Sayter will just not listen to people telling them to calm down about restrictions on research gain and how the system makes fu worse than almost anything the game has to provide.

Cool. i've never had an issue with the points (and theyre not hard to idle farm), but its the having to track down every little ingredient or make some wierd thing from a crafting bench, neither of which im gonna see or use again

Is there a version of this mod that tweaks all the other costs? Like i'd prefer it cost just points to research

having to track down a resource im never using outside of completing that reseach catagory so i can actually get to the one i need can take me a good 2-6 hours of looking and thats if i don't get distracted by finding one of the other hundred some odd ingredients i need for what ever thing.

It should be as far as I know; It only changes calculations (although I have to override the entire fire)

Thank you for this, Research always felt a bit stifling and while I do enjoy the system due to it making progression feel a bit more meaningful on the crafting side I felt that the passive generation was too slow and the active generation is too late to acquire for it to help early game stagnation. This is a great midpoint by improving passive generation across the board.
