when using lowest texture settings, the chapter icons get blurry :(

Somebody should make a mod like that for Halo MCC on PC, where they used the original level icons from the original versions of CE,2,3,ODST,& Reach. And have the CE & 2 original level icons in anniversary graphics

I actually thought of that, but I also didn't want new players to get spoiled when seeing the black hole. So I I thought that the Tram would be better.

I did actually use that link months ago and that's what I use for my playthroughs, but it will still show blood on my face when hit. At least my new takes look better, especially Power Up where the Gargantua where I don't get blood on my face when he fires his flames; he only does that when there's no other marine left to burn.

I did that in the past and it didn't work. Maybe I will try to go into the blood textures and clear them out. I need to go to sleep, now. I promise that I will do it.

I think you could try typing this in the console in order to remove the blood: violence_ablood 0;violence_hblood 0

The problem is that I don't know how to remove the blood splats on my face.

Apprehension: replacing the current image with one with soldiers shooting at gordon, showcasing the muzzle flashes (for this it is better to use God cheat, as well as the Pause one.

In all cases I think it is better to hide the first person weapons.

Unforseen Consequences: I think taking a similar screenshot but with the flashlight on would already make it perfect.

Office Complex: Maybe a new screenshot containing a bull squid but on another location that does not involve a dull background?

Cool. Blast Pit, We've Got Hostiles, Power Up, Interloper, Nihilanth, and Anomalous Materials are all very nice, so I'd keep those personally.

I know. I actually know that some of the images I took are actually intentionally plain since (I didn't know or use the pause command) some Half-Life source chapter images ALSO didn't tell us anything. I will keep improving on taking good screenshots though. Thanks for the feedback.

A number of these are really nice, I'm loving the Nihilanth one, but some of them are a bit too plain. Unforeseen Consequences doesn't really tell us anything about the chapter. And that's not your fault persay, Half-Life Source's chapter thumbnails weren't the greatest. I'd personally take out that one, Residue Processing, and Office Complex.

You're welcome! I hope you can achieve the best results and have fun in the process with the pause stuff I shared. I, for example, had a great time using noclip while the game was on pause, trolling the NPCs :steammocking:

I guess they see it as a teleportation rather than a quick move.

If you use the 'find' command, and type 'pause', you'll find both of them, like this:
find pause

As for anti-aliasing, I think it doesn't work in Black Mesa. That would be an old time bug, unfortunately.

These new preview pictures also show how much darker Black Mesa is compared to Half-Life 1. You see it's not just the lighting, but ambience as a whole. I say keep the dark previews as you made them, since that also helps identifying the horror-focused chapters more easily, while staying true to both games.

Only suggestion I came up with, is changing the End Game picture to one that matches the part when G-Man takes Gordon to different places, showcasing the life on Xen and its beautiful colors . There was a variable that could be used to hide the "paused game" text when you actually pause the game. That way, you'll be able to create custom screenshots without issues. Also, there's another one that lets you NOCLIP WHILE BEING PAUSED! 👍🙂

I wanted to create such a mod too. My limitations were that my PC couldn't run the game in FullHD with highest settings, and that Office Complex layout in Source did not match its Black Mesa counterpart (the bullsquid section shown, where there are barnacles and water flowing in the middle).

Thanks for not including the HUD and the first person models! Also I love your decision making with the Office Complex preview picture. I kinda got lost there, since I wasn't sure whether to change it or not due to maps not being on pair with each other.
