I just tested out the X44 and didn't have any issues with the front landing gear, even during my not-so-soft landing. However, I noticed that the front landing gear has issues deploying while flying at high speeds, which can prevent it from locking securely. (I tested this in on high physics setting and in a new world.) I recommend trying the plane again in a new world.
The transfer sequence works the same way in both directions. The feature is called transfer and it is mapped to the 3 key in the seats if they are in one of the flight control page if I remember correctly.
Note that the transfer sequence may not immediately be apparent to the pilot as it is a fully automated sequence. Just hit the key and continue flying as normal while the plane transfers over the course of 20-30 seconds. Also ensure you press the transfer early enough as the plane will require to fly for a bit under 2km still to complete the transfer safely. You can find the transfer radius in the map app at all times.
To say this in the most simple way possible: No
It takes a lot of work to build these and anything smaller would be a significant downgrade to this pro version and therefore not really provide any aims for our design team here at IDT. Also there are plenty of more compact and more efficient VTOLs out in the workshop already so there should be plenty alternatives.
Thats what we were aiming for ;) Thank you!
Not too sure what's so positive about that but besides creating a new world before using the plane I don't think theres much you can do. The ground door is not very complex and this is clearly a bug in the game as theres no way the door can mechanically jam on it's own.
No I'm aftaid you can't the autopilot takes care of all engine rotations. I don't quite see why you would want to though since the board computer does all rotation be it for rotating the aircraft, ensuring stable flight, transfering taking off or landing. Did I miss a possible rotation when designing the computer?
Yes you are. Thank you for purchasing an IDT Pro Series aircraft ;D
1. You are still in taxi mode (this is the case if you are still on the the ground)
2. You are in a different control mode (Anything except fire extingushing mode should work)
I recommend that you watch the tutorial video provided on the steam page of the vehicle. This should contain all the information you need to get going with your new x44 Pro ;)
Thank you very much.
the hangar is perpendicular to the runway and i have to taxi it out before i can take off, but it wont let me taxi because of the auto-brakes.
Yes I admit it's quite hard to find XD. There's a small flip switch under the plane next to the front landing gear. That will extend the fuel monitor and hose nozzle.
wheres the nozzle
Yes you can use the transfer button mapped to hotkey "3" (keep in mind that the transfer sequence takes roughly 40 seconds, the transfer radius is marked by a blue circle in the map view)
Thanks Mate.
About the car:
It's a custom paint job done on my friends range rover's. You can find it here: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2188343940
I have never had the gear collapse on me. Make sure to create a new world before using stormworks creations since pivots often behave strangely in old saves. This has fixed many many problems for me. Also keep in mind that you need to wait for the gear to lock after it extended. As soon as the landing gear lights are green the gear should be locked and not collapse at all.
As a model aircraft pilot I still do think that these axies are the proper way around and I dislike that most planes in this game use it the other way around. I'm not considering to upgrade this one to a switchable system but it's something I might consider for future flying creations.
Since I fly model aircraft and multicopers and by the way also a model of this exact plane I made the controls the same way you would have them on a so called mode 2 transmitter. Its quite a standard for model aviation so I wouldn't call the option which most people in this game use "Normal".
I am sorry if this sounds as if im denying the feedback but this is exactly how my physical x44 model behaves in air
I did not put the GPS autopilot in because I don't think it's that useful since the plane already has a heading lock and I wanted to save my motivation for autopilot systems for a future project that im planning(something fully autonomous for sure). At least I already put about 150 hours into this plane. But sure call me lazy for not putting one in ;P
Anyways thank you for the feedback. It's always something important to get and its quite rarely seen here in stormworks.
