maybe the vertical pivot is four times, i forgot a bit.

The horizontal pivots angle the control surfaces so the perpendicular line is always half way between the direction of the incoming wind and the direct rear of the boat.

And vertical pivots to angle the control surfaces so they are tilted at an angle double that of the tilt of the mast, to generate a bit of lift and reduce the tendency for the ship to roll over in crosswind.

I can't believe this actually works! Congratulations on a great job! It's sad that so many people have cried about the sails, but the reality is that no one really needs them.
