HAHAHAHA!!! That behemoth cruise ship was just a spur-of-the-moment dive into a crazy "what-if-I-could-make-a-hotel-fly?" moment. It's really one of my *joke* builds, but it was nevertheless fun to bring to life. It was especially interesting to get it to fly (it's a pig!). But fly it does.

I've completed a new "mobile" station called the WY-832 "Roxette" that I'm close to publishing. Very similar to this, but with light armor, two hangar bays sized for two of my AutoMole Space Miners, primarily solar powered, eight advanced refineries with yield modules, three assemblers each with three speed modules (that's all I could fit in the current configuration), two jump drives, accommodations for 12, cryo for 14, etc. About the same PCUs. I've crammed a lot of stuff into a relatively compact profile.

Definitely use the advanced refinery. You double your ingot output when four yield modules are used.

I managed to find a huge deposit of cobalt, but at the same time I want to get the most resources so I'm only using the advanced refinery.

It seems like people have as much a problem finding cobalt as they do uranium. Interesting.

All your stations have quite a unique character. I'm tempted to build more.

I wanted to wait to post until I had it completed, but I've stalled out a bit processing more cobalt - I have all four hangars built, just the middle and then the top section to go.

It seems like everyone is trending towards smaller stations lately, which seems to be due in part to the safe zone size versus, part/pcu/block limits, and framerate. Probably easier on servers too. It took me only an hour or so to build each of the two prior stations before this one.

Tho I did see the comment thread from someone else on another station about how they were planning to build a mega-structure out of all of them, too. :D

I appreciate your encouragement. I really do.

My designs tend to be heavy on function and light on aesthetics. For example, all my mining ships are designed to carry a full load of ore on every planet (although Pertam challenges that design objective for a couple of my planetary designs), including what can be stored in the cockpit, connector, and drills.

I know what you mean about trying to change someone's design, too. In my opinion, one of my best revisions to an existing design was to turn the R.U.S.T. freighter into a mobile processing ship: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2062687305 . I did three other variants, too.

I've only done one design that lagged my system; not anymore. Nowadays I tend toward smaller, more efficient designs.

Thanks, I'll check them out! I do love uber mega stations too, but the one I was working on in creative started to lag the game so, yeah, too big. XD

Your stations are hard to edit because they're so gorgeous, modifying just 3 blocks was a dilemma and took me some time to decide on how to do it and not ruin the look. I love it. <3

But yeah, watching the last of the cobalt smelt on just 5 refineries (station plus my ship) and I'm looking for how to modify it to add more. I'm glad I started from the bottom up!

I did this series when I built my ship called Old Prospector's Jenny. One person commented and said I should build some beat-up starter stations, but with mobility so they can be moved (really, that makes them ships; oh, well). So I did. I think the Upsilon station is the only one with four refineries (or more).

I need to put together a collection of my space-based stations; I just realized I'd never done that.

I tend to go a bit heavy on the refineries, so you'll usually get a bunch in my builds.

I love this series of stations. I built Xi in survival as my Mars Moon ice station and Chi as my near-Mars trade station. Then I tried building this. Whew. XD I rarely build with heavy armor. Each hangar feels like an accomplishment.

Just curious, do you have any other stations with 4 or more refineries? XD
