Designed and built by Spiff's Practical Engineered Solutions for the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, the WY-832 Heracles is a relatively compact, yet large capacity, mobile processing space station for exploration and preparing for terraforming new colonies in unknown regions of the universe. Heracles is designed for space-based ore collection, processing, and production by strip-mining asteroids of all their usable ores, processing those collected ores and ice into useful materials, and producing parts. Mining is performed by its drone miner fleet comprised of two AutoMole space miners that are controlled by the Path Auto Miner script. No mods are used, but DLC is included.

Primary power is supplied by a twin solar array comprised of 40 solar panels and controlled by Isy's Solar Alignment script to maximize output; the solar array folds into a stowed position during station repositioning. Power is stored in 24 batteries, and 4 small reactors (empty) are provided for future use when uranium is discovered and processed.

Station defenses are provided by 8 gatling turrets and 10 interior turrets.

Ore, ice, and part processing and production are handled by 8 advanced refineries, all upgraded with 4 yield modules each, 3 advanced assemblers, all upgraded with 3 speed modules each, 8 O2/H2 generators, and 12 oxygen farms. Ore is stored in 4 large cargo containers, hydrogen gas is stored in 2 large and 2 small hydrogen tanks, and oxygen gas is stored in a single oxygen tank.

Station relocation is accomplished via hydrogen thrusters and 2 jump drives; the maximum jump distance is 2,000 kilometers for an empty station, and 1,900 kilometers for the as-spawned mass. Heracles must be reset to a "station" for the Path Auto Miner script to operate correctly. The drone miners are stored in the two hangar bays and controlled at the Level 6½ bridge balcony via 2 dedicated control stations.

Ships visiting Heracles may dock at any of the 4 external docking connectors; each have conveyor sorters set to "drain all" to facilitate auto-mining ore transfer, so a visiting ship must set their connector to counter inadvertent offloading of their cargo.

Crew services include full accommodations for 12 crew in 2 separate wings. Medical services includes two medical rooms at bow and stern locations, each with a complete diagnostic suite. Heracles also includes a crew lounge that doubles as a crew mess. Cryogenic services are provided on Level 3 via 14 cryo chambers (12 primary and 2 spares).

IMPORTANT NOTES:
Heracles makes extensive use of sub-grids for its aesthetics and operation. The antenna assembly is on a rotor sub-grid, each of the 8 refineries are on hinge sub-grids, and the solar array is on multiple rotor/hinges sub-grid. This station is not designed for building in survival with a projector. However, if anyone is interested in that capability, drop me a line.

A sensor is used at each hangar bay to detect small ships and automatically open and close the airtight hangar doors. The doors are cycling to open or close when the interior lights are off; it's safe to fly the ship out of the bay when the interior light turn back on.

Also, in case anyone is interested, I could not get Isy's Solar Alignment Script to "see" the solar panels on the hinged sub-grids. I really wanted this station to have stowable solar arrays, so removing the hinges was the least desirable fix. I scratched my head awhile until I realized I could build the rotating hinge bars using oxygen farms, and that the script would "see" the oxygen farms and align them with the sun. Problem solved. Much happiness and I get the added benefit of a little more oxygen production!

Finally, for an unknown reason(s), flying Heracles with its hydrogen thrusters results in white smoke being emitted near the bottom antenna sub-grid, and near the top solar sub-grid. Regardless of the smoke, however, no damage occurs to those sub-grids or any of the adjacent structures. Another weirdness to attribute to Space Engineers.

I wish I understood the weird smoke effect. It's got to be some kind of pseudo-collision box thing happening that doesn't damage blocks (sort of like when a wheel spins on a surface). I had another ship do the same thing with a rotating thing-a-ma-bob I put on it for effect; it didn't do anything for the ship's popularity.
