The fire sound is decided by the game, not the QC soundscript, so nope, can't change that.

It uses the fast reload anim for nonempty reloads and the regular empty reload for empty reloads

I think what he means is that when you reload and still have ammo in the mag, the animation shows you discarding it and when you're empty it shows you grabbing the mag, shouldn't it be the other way around

i'm pretty sure there's an AS VAL mod for the AC556 already, I wanted a VSS but the only VSS I could find was for the AC556, but since it replaces a security weapon it just feels wrong.

I tried dabbling in blender to see if I could somehow convert it for the M1A1 but just couldn't figure it out even with "beginner friendly" guides. guess this is the next best thing.

I know this mini-review is a little late, but I guess I was too busy enjoying the mod.

Katka did an absolutely ASTOUNDING job with this gun. The animations are straight from Sandstorm, and the entire model looks like the real thing. Even though it replaces the M1A1, which is not a weapon that has the best features to align with the AS VAL's characteristics, this AS VAL is tremendously fun to use. Grab the EFT Sound pack, and the weapon is satisfying as hell.

As for combat use, it gets the job done. No showing off - just showing up and getting dirty, because once the FSB walk in, nobody walks out.

10/10 - Great mod, although if it were up to me, I'd choose a different weapon to replace like the M14(?)

Why are so many ppl saying FAL is a better replacement? Ur gonna end up with another identical AS VAL for the L1A1 as a result since the FAL and L1A1 use the same mags in the game .__.
