Amazing, I was just looking for a good less-scripted mod to try some mage knight variants!

UPDATE : 11/01/2024

• FIXED : Fixed a long standing bug with how the dummy player works. It should now deal correctly. Sometimes it used to deal two cards if you chose to deal 1. I also added a click counter. So you can click the number of times you need.

• CHANGED : I changed how the buttons worked, they should now be easier to click.

• REBUILT : I have redone the day/night script. It now should work as expected. I also added a Yellow and Black die that "count" the rounds as you go and added a red die you can set to max rounds to help you keep track of things.

yeah... they are in there.. try pressing "2" when hovering the mouse over the token... or look in the top left of the table. I can not remember exactly. I'm on holiday at the mo so I do not have a computer right now. (on phone) so I can not check.

Thanks for this mod. I agree that Tuff-Luck's mod is excellent but too scripted to enjoy as a board game experience. I'm glad to have found yours. Kind of a relief really.

hmm... there does seem to be some kind of bug there.. not sure when that was introduced. I'll check that out when I get time. For now... a work around is to build the deck and die pools with no dummy player.. pull out the dummy board, get the card you want rdy but do not "setup"... select it all and ctrl+x to cut it... then start game and ctrl+v to paste it back.. this should always work. I'll fix this when I get a chance. Probably tomorrow afterwork.

When I try to create a solo conquest, at times I get 4 dice and 4 offers (instead of 3). It doesn't happen always but when it happens I have to restart several times to get the correct number of dice and unit/card offers etc. I normally select 1 mage knight and 1 dummy and then use the map pool builder. Am I doing something wrong?

HOTFIX - 14/02/2021

• FIXED : Draw Card Buttons for Mage Knights position 1 through 4 now work correctly.

Not sure how this happened but the draw card code was dropping the cards outside of the hand zones for some reason after the patch. The patch did contain a lot of changes for how hand zones work.. so I guess this had something to do with that. Anyway, the draw card buttons will now function correctly. After I finish my current mod I plan to play a full game of this mod to see if there are any other issues.

Big Thanks to deviwakko and D-Tox for spotting these problems and letting me know.

Todays patch broke bag.getObjects() and borked nearly every mod on the workshop.. a hotfix has already come out.. it should be working now.. please try again.. I'll take a look when I get home from work.

Another patch came in today. The character loads now but when I use the draw 5 cards at the start it will just pull 5 cards faced down next to the deck.

I am not sure if today's patch has anything to do with it, but I can no longer get the game board to populate when I drop a character to a player slot. I tried deleting and redownloading but it didn't work.

HOTFIX - 04/02/2021

• FIXED : The PUG Pools now are created during setup correctly.

A recent patch to TTS from the devs borked my mod somehow. It was not dispensing the pug pools correctly. Been a while fomr when I last modded seriously.. so I fixed it but will need feedback if anything deeper is broken or if anything else in this mod needs attention.

Great mod. Though, the dummy player still has a few minor issues. When it has exactly 2 cards left in its deck, pressing "Draw 1" draws them both. When it has only 1 card left in its deck, neither the "Draw 3" nor the "Draw 1" buttons do anything at all.

The designer has stated many times that the 1st expansion is actually a "fix" for the game. No one should ever be playing with out the 1st expansion components. The errata to the Mage Knights and unique power spells, as well as the balance adjustments to tokens and xp gain should not be optional. If you are playing with just the raw base game, you are doing it wrong. For this and other reason I will not be adding any functionality to convert the game back into it unbalanced and version which is just inferior.

This is my favorite mod of Mage Knight. It looks nice, has a lot of QoL features, and provides enough automation tools without taking dictatorial control of the game like the more highly scripted mods.

My main complaint at the moment is that the expansion checkboxes in the upper left corner don't seems to function entirely correctly. I'm trying to play just the base game at the moment but I can't entirely disable expansion content. The checkboxes will remove expansion enemy tokens, but the deed, spell, artifact, units, etc decks still keep all expansion content. This will probably become moot once I'm ready to move on to Lost Legion but still seems to be a bug.

HOTFIX : 31 / 01 / 2020

Looks like when I updated the links a few weeks back I accidentally uploaded a WIP version of the mod that was half finished which was going to change the dummy draw to be more automated... but as it was WIP it didn't work properly.

FIXED : I have changed the Dummy Draw back to how it was supposed to be for this release. Press 1 button to draw 3 cards, press the lower button to draw 1 at a time.

When I get some time I'll update this again to automate the dummy draw.

Hmmm actually I think your correct.... just use the draw 1 button for now. I will remove that other button when I get home from work.

No, it is working as intended. The mod does not automatically calculate the draw for you. I simply draws 3 cards, then you the player presses draw 1 card each time for each crystal. Maybe I might change it to "draw 3 cards" from "Process Dummy".

So it will only ever draw 3 cards by pressing the top button and then you press the bottom button to draw 1 card at a time.

proces dummy player is broken I think... when the third card has the same color, it draws same number of cards as it has mana tokens of that color. And if the last card drawn that way has again the color of the mana the dummy player has, the function repeats.

for example. The dummy player has 3 blue and 1 red mana. I click on Process dummy player button. it Draws 9 cards (the 3th card was blue and the sixth was blue too)

Yes but that button is buggy and not only screwed everything up it latter wouldn't up load at all. See "the nightmare continues" in change notes and check out my tech support fourm posts at berserk games with recorded footage of the upload button not working.

@Tragic - are you aware of the upload all loaded files button in the cloud manager? As long as you have all the mod files in your cache it'll upload the entire thing to steamcloud and convert all the links in the mod with a single click. In case you weren't aware.

UPDATE : 10/12/2019

• FIXED : All asset links should now be working!!

Ok... so, as some of you may know my mod has been broken for a long time as google drive moves files to trash when they are not being accessed regularly, then as you upload new files, these trash files are automatically deleted. This led to almost all my mods being broken with 1000s of dead links across the place. I was so upset that I basically quit TTS modding for nearly a year, but recently I have been going though my old mods and fixing them

To that end, I believe I have completely fixed this mod and now have it fully hosted on SteamCloud, and therefore should not have any future dead links of any kind as long as steam is maintaining its archive. I have the mod backed up as well at TableTop Simulator Nexus.

This is a complex mod though, and I have not tested every possible table setup, if you find any erroring files still, please let me know...

No problem. I also prefer this one as the other has far too much automation. While it is useful, there aren't as many tooltips as I would like and was deterred from using it just by the setup screen.

All my mods are compleatly broken at this time.. there was a huge ♥♥♥♥ up on google drive and stuff... I am slowly going through and fixing all my mods... stay tunned... If you download this mod but go to TableTopNexus I have uploaded this mod there you can use... otherwise I recommed the TTS mod I spoke of in the description

The Nightmare Continues

So here is the deal.

I made a mod. A guy decided to make his own version of the mod. Cool guy, we have become online friends and his mod was cool. He took all my files, and used a TTS function to upload them to his personal steam cloud so he can work on them. I then saw his mod and decided to update my own mod and liked some of his new scans so did the same. I then wanted my mod to be separate so also did the TTS upload to cloud.

The problem is that steam cloud dose not seem to update links for files already on the cloud no matter who owns them. Meaning that now I have a mod, with some files on his cloud, some on my cloud and some on my googledrive and as all the links are obfuscated I can not tell what is where and there are no file names as such. To make mattes worse ALL the files did upload to my cloud as far as TTS is concerned.. so I can not even find out what is not uploaded

The 0nly real way to fix this is to rebuild the mod from scratch and use my own google dirve (like my old mod) but it is such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ heap of work.

So what I am going to do is do this one last update. Everything is working now but I will not be doing any more updates until Tuff's mod is "complete". Once he has stopped changing things every few days I will do a final update to this mod.

In the meantime I will upload this mod to my dropbox where you can download the entire mod as a RAR file. If there are problems you can manually unrar it into your mod dir, over writing things .. and this will fix everything.

Sorry about all this.. but no one is more frustrated than I!!

Alternatively you can just use Tuff's mod! : )

• FIXED : Tracked down that single erroring link Shyney told me about... it was the Standee OBJ for Volkare, this is why no one ever really noticed it as most people use the PUG or the Miniature.

• ADDED : I have placed a simple tool to help with final scoring.. it is in the Bag near the score cards on the right of the table.

I have yet to build a Co-Op Score Card...

TWEAK - 17 / 08 / 2019

• FIXED : I have put back the map dispenser tokens above the discard piles. These got lost during the "link breaking" incident. They have returned!
• FIXED : One of the new convenience trash bins was unlocked.. this is now locked.

• CHANGED : I have made all the Fame and Reputation icons for the Mage Knights "not sticky". This means when you pick them up they will not pick up anything on top of them. This makes it a lot easier to move them when they are in stacks.

• ADDED : I have placed another trash bag on the top left of the board for easy dumping of hand rolled dice.
• ADDED : I have added two Volkare Tokens to the top left of the table. These are already linked correctly for the "Returns" and "Quest" Scenarios. Links break when you place them in bags so they need to be sitting in the open like this, as it is using a LINK to attach the arrows to the pug. There are still copies of the arrows in the Lost Legion Bag if you want to attach the arrows yourself to the Standee or Mini. I just put these here as some people are finding it hard to understand how to use these arrows.

@Shyney - I just tested the mod... everything downloads fine.. no errors.. you may be using an older version... I did a fix update only a few days ago... try loading a new copy of the mod from the workshop.
