Here is a link to my video Guide File for MOWAS2 from 3 years ago. It is based in the same gem editor. Much of it is still very relevent to CTA, especially to those new to mapping and mission making.

And, I'm not targeting most players. I'm targeting the small but growing modding community. Many of whom are on my friends list.
A similar video guide is in the plans for CTA. It will feature these "Editor Gems" mods and how to use their features to shortcut building missions.
I also have many other commitments and responsibilities. This is something I do with my downtime for my own enjoyment.
Another bonus of cheats mod is ammo resupply. Most missions are generous with resupply. but to me its unnecessary micromanagement. Why shepherd truck after truck to where you want it when I would rather be having fun in the actual game.
Even something as basic as extra MP/CP helps the first time or two .. the next runthru you cheat less ...
Cheats give balance/enjoyment to the individuals comfort point.
My 2c anyway : )
HOWEVER, if i was lead to believe that a cheat mod would entice some people to purchase a copy of the game, this would be reason enough for me to consider making one.
You really do want to make a cheatsmod for CtA don't you :)
It will pay to open the mission file on the map you want to put it onto, to position the elements/objects. Once you add the ; symbol at the beginning and end of the .mi file. You won't be able to load it in the editor. These ; symbols are needed to "include" the file. So be aware you may have to edit the text back and forth to load it in the editor to position the few elements/objects.
^^^ This bit ... my little mind boggles. Won't know till I try it out I suppose.
I was imagining a cheatsmod kind of thing, a menu is added and I get to add reinforcement where/when I want in game .. I have never worked out the editor .. Gives me a challenge I suppose.
I'm just trying to help other modders get more into content into their missions.
I can modify missions from modders by adding this "include command" & your infantry one into existing up to date missions ... I will give this a try.
Wish me luck as i'm sure to screw it up lol.
