Continued; it creates a sort of balance choice intself I think, due to this nature. Default tools retain their weak durability, so they won't last that long, but you /can/ craft them if you're willing to suffer the material costs. If you get lucky and /find/ a tool (Or make one) and are iwlling to go a step further, you can hone it for the same cost to make it last longer and I /think/ mine more efficiently.

That is fair, I just didn't like having to rely on the MM or be forced to work with the upgrade mechanic. I suppose I just wanted to restore use to them and make them capable of sticking around for longer. If it helps any, I don't believe the default tools are actually modified. I just gave a way to craft them and I swear in the case of a normal pickaxe made it obtainable again and a bit weaker. Stone picks cost 24 stone to make and every normal pick costs 12 to make, and 12 to hone. Drills cost 24 to hone and you can't craft them. (save for the 3 end-game drills and my super drill)

The /honed/ variants I believe are where the durability probably gets FAR longer, actually.

I was wondering what you meant by this, as you didn't really explaain it in depth:

Just my two cents, but I actually prefer when the tools have durability, as this way, you can balance them in a way in which they are stronger than the Matter Manipulator for it's tier, but it won't be able to do so forever.

Oh fine, I'll see about making a version of this that makes the mining tools unbreakable.

if you have other mods on hand, i don't suggest rushing unbreakable versions...
now if you have nothing to do, i'd absolutely love an unbreakable version, and so would other people *cough person below COUGH*
