Hi @Blockdude,

I found a bug in your mod, as you cannot disengage "Velocity hold autopilot" on helicopters.
In fact in your cba_keybinds.sqf, you're checking the wrong variable in "hal_attKey" to allow to disengage.

You should replace the references to "hal_autopilotpos" to "hal_autopilotatt".
It seems you just made a bad copy/paste from the hold pos function :)

This does not affect AI pilots in any way. They are not available to them, nor does it get rid of auto-hove for them.

Would this affect ai pilots in anyway? I am assuming ai doesn't utilize these but what I mean is, does ai use vanilla auto-hover and would this prevent them from functioning?

p.s. tried the mod in editor, it's fantastic. I loved that I could orbit targets and steady things out while I sling loaded.

I don't recall exactly, but IIRC CBA has a different menu for controller/joystick keybinding. At any rate, the binding is taken care of by CBA, not this mod, so a generic search might give more details than I can

Ok managed to figure out how to bind the auto pilot to keys,. However when I try to bind actions to my Logitec x56 hotas CBA doesn't recognize the hotas inputs. Any know how to remedy this

Altitude Hold (if using a plane) will do what you want. Get the target perpendicular to you, roll the aircraft towards it (If it's on your left, roll left), and then set the altitude hold. It will cause you to circle the target

It's been a number of years since I checked, but last time I did, there is no reliable way to detect the co-pilot (Their seat shows up as a passenger seat). As such there is no way to give the autopilot control options to the co-pilot.

The issue I have found with this mod is that only one of them can be used at a time.. Example: If I activate altitude hold, throttle and heading modes are not available.

The mod SHOULD work with all aircraft and modded aircraft, as long as the mod lists them as aircraft. I'm not sure why the AC-130U wouldn't work in particular, do the other aircraft in the mod work?

No, the only differentiation is between helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. Autopilots can be disabled per-plane and/or per-mode

Do not recommend this mod for serious pilots. When autopilot is turned on, no inflatable pilot appears. Completely unrealistic and immersion breaking.

They're literally blank in the CBA map key listing page section for your mod and I don't see any available under controls config anywhere. How does one go about assigning certain keys for your mod if one hasn't already done so?

There are no CBA key-bindings listed. 6 spots and no keys in the keybindings spot for CBA on your mod.

This mod interest me a lot, especially to hold a chopper while tying to spot targets. But if it's working fine on planes, i've seen no effect on any chopper : i've tried the blackfoot, the hummingbird, the ghosthawk, both with my usual mod and with just CBA and vanilla, but it seems not acting on chopper. The scroll options are here, I hear a click when I activate one, but i can se no effect on the flight path, with or without vanilla hovering on. Am I the only one here ?

I'm guessing not since it's not in the description, but is there a loiter function? So, for example, I can orbit around an area in say, in an A-164.

Is it possible to apply a raycast at a 35 degree angle lower than the nose? This would help with detection, and a 12-15 degree downward ray to predict terrain further away but with more of an immediate threat in regards to collisions.

Altitude Hold is relative to sea level. An issue with trying to make a ground following Altitude Hold is the correction time when approaching or going over a hill or mountain. The AP could only react to what it's distance directly below it, causing it to either over-correct when hitting small peaks in a relatively flat area, or to react too slowly when approaching the peak of a mountain, causing a crash

I have modified the code, but I don't currently have ArmA installed anymore so I can't personally test it just yet. For the time being, I have uploaded the new code to the unstable workshop page if you want to give it a try.

Ok, Blockdude I just got into it and setting a key bind through Controls - HAL Autopilots doesn't remove the action. Things do love getting broken though don't they!

Lol, you know, maybe a month ago my arma profile (including key bindings) reset back to default after a crash and I'm still catching up on things that need to be returned to normal. So all good :)
