Frackin Universe's wiki says this breaks their mod...

Still works.. This should be the default way it works. So much better

@Catman i think you could do @ShadowBlitz16 's idea by simply spawning a "mining_lazer_pulseball" at the player's cursor and have it alternate on a inflated-regular-deflated-regular cycle so that it takes about 10 frames to complete as long as they're holding left / right click

Also I've never seen Lua but if i could get a glimpse of some of the code I could probably help you make it

Honestly I am amazed this shitty code hack of a mod still gets comments and has so many people using it. I couldn't even begin to approach this to update or fix any issues people have, I don't understand why someone who actually does Starbound modding as a hobby hasn't just made their own version of this

you should make a simple pulsating energy ball at the end of the laser so it doesn't just look like it ends suddenly

about those crashes you people seem to have, my mech was also dying some days ago when i installed Shellguard and Arcana, uninstalled Arcana and my mechs began to work again, weird.

@Lord_Greyscale On second thought, it doesn't seem to be this mod. Despite having the same issue, unsubscribing from this mod doesn't seem to fix the issue for me. I think you were correct about it being a mod interaction somewhere.
Blackjack 7. sep. 2020 kl. 14:12
@Lord_Greyscale I can confirm this happens. Using two of them also results in the mech locking up entirely upon firing either.
Lord_Greyscale 10. juni 2020 kl. 13:34
Dunno that anyone else is experiencing this and not reporting it, but I've found a bug.

When using only 1 Mining Laser, after I stop using it and attempt to use the other weapon, the mech locks up.

I can still exit the mech and re-enter it, but it won't move, aim, or shoot.

This may be a mod interaction gone bad, but I've got more mods than are feasable to un-sub just to test.

Dead Cat 1. nov. 2018 kl. 7:14

Jean Atrosa 25. okt. 2018 kl. 13:26
would this work with the frackin universe mining lasers? or the M.E.G.A.B.E.A.M.D.R.I.L.L.?
fenrisnihilus 21. aug. 2018 kl. 16:14
how can i activate it?
loib 25. juli 2018 kl. 13:15
thank you mate :D
Catman  [ophavsmand] 25. juli 2018 kl. 6:17
Done. The mining laser now uses its own script.
loib 25. juli 2018 kl. 1:09
hey. i found out it actually makes beam sniper like this too. could you patch mechparts_arm.config in the beamsniper part so it won't be limited by the cursor?
loib 22. juli 2018 kl. 10:37
true. this is truly a great addition (unlike stuff like "despacito2")
Catman  [ophavsmand] 20. juli 2018 kl. 13:59
Honestly it surprises me that it isn't like this in vanilla, without this tweak it's about as useful for digging as bombs are. It just messily destroys things, which is really inconvenient.

This mod is approved by me, I speak to you that this is a highly underrated mod.
Orange Peel Assassin 17. juli 2018 kl. 1:17
i have not found any yet:SBmm:
Catman  [ophavsmand] 16. juli 2018 kl. 4:59
This redoes the file, because it's a lua script file rather than a JSON config file. I don't expect it's possible to make a patch file for this purpose. Any reason why you ask? Any conflicts?
Orange Peel Assassin 15. juli 2018 kl. 16:45
is this a patch or does it redo the filles?
loib 12. juli 2018 kl. 13:25
great mod mate.
