Generic Focus Tree: Redux

描述
👋 Welcome to Generic Focus Tree: Redux! Вітаю всіх!
GFT: Redux is a complete rework and reimagining of the vanilla generic focus tree.
My goal wasn’t to make five hundred, a thousand, or a million focuses - instead, I aimed to make the new tree more functional and gameplay-oriented, giving both the player and the AI options that the vanilla tree simply doesn’t provide.

👍Rate It:
Whatever your impression is, please take a moment to rate my work.❤️

📌 Redux Features:
Expanded political tree. Significantly extended politics branch that allows you to bring any ideology to power.
Reworked military and industry paths. No more pointless “decorative” focuses - every one has a purpose.
Meaningful choices. Many mutually exclusive focuses ensure every playthrough feels unique. You’ll need to think strategically when choosing between different focuses and their bonuses.
Balance. I’ve tried to maintain balance not only between ideologies but also between major and minor nations.
• Improved ideologies: Each ideology now has unique strengths, making all of them viable - not just fascists like in vanilla.
Dynamic gameplay. The new tree allows both players and AI to start civil wars, form alliances, and declare wars over territory, making AI-controlled nations feel more alive.
Simplicity. Functionality is combined with visual clarity - everything is intuitive and easy to follow without getting lost in endless paths and branches.
Localization. The mod is translated into all languages supported by Hearts of Iron IV, so everyone can enjoy the new focus tree.

⚙️Compatibility?
Is this mod compatible with others, such as Road56?
Partially. I can’t guarantee that the focus trees will automatically switch to GFT: Redux, but you do have the option to set the new focus tree manually through a decision.

🐞Your Feedback Matters:
This is my first mod, and I’m completely open to criticism and suggestions. Please report any issues you encounter during your playthrough - I’ll be glad to improve and balance the mod further.

🗨️ Supported languages:
✅ENG, RUS, FRA, SPA, GER/DEU, POR, POL, JPN, CHI/ZHO (simplified), KOR
-
✅UKR, Українська локалізація - https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3597454982

i dont really like how a non-aligned nation is assumed to be a kingdom, for example if i put in a Chinese kuomintang warlord, it'd just assume its a kingdom

Honestly, I don’t understand under what circumstances the issue occurs. In my tests and games, I haven’t seen any problems with these countries. If you can, please provide a more precise description.

@PA4PL
The goal of my mod is to give both the player and the AI all the necessary options to play in any style. The political branches currently in the mod fully cover these needs. Each ideology has focuses for both aggressive and passive play. Even as a democracy, you can take an aggressive path and declare wars left and right, just like fascist states can in vanilla. So, there’s simply no place for additional political branches like dictatorships, oligarchies, or others. If I were to add them, it would just be a copy of what already exists under a different name, without any unique gameplay features.

I would like to report a bug or a simple mistake that occurred during the test play of this mod.
If you play as any nation that can switch to a different ideology quickly (such as Peru or non-DLC Austria), and you complete Liquidate the Opposition (for C, F, N/A) or Prepare the People (for D), you get locked in and are forced into a civil war between two sides of the same ideology. Fortunately, there is an event (I’m not sure if it’s from the base game or the mod) that annexes the other half of your civil-war-torn country, but the issue still remains.

i know its too much to ask for, but could you add another path for the non-alligned tree? as instead of a monarchy its a non fascist dictatorship or an olligarchy of sorts. thx

I don’t plan to add new political branches just with different names, there’s no gameplay need for that. Right now, the “Monarchism” branch already has both an aggressive path and a very passive “isolationism” one, which essentially simulates full neutrality.

@BoznaWhere - I understand, thank you!:steamdance:

I can't know that for sure, but if that mod simply adds a focus tree for a specific country, then in theory everything should work correctly. You’ll need to check it directly in practice.

@BoznaWhere - Is the mod compatible with other focus tree mods?
Specifically with the Under the Blue Sky: A Mongolia Focus Tree Mod! I want to play as Mongolia, but I know your mod also affects it. Can I play with Under the Blue Sky: A Mongolia Focus Tree Mod and have the other countries use their focus trees from your mod?
