描述
Faction Upgrade is my series of mods aimed at improving the various factions of the Kenshi world. The mod will affect the following things:

1. Weapons and armour
2. Cities and bases
3. Units
4. Dialogues
5. Starts

The Faction Upgrade (Dust Bandits) mod aims to improve the faction of the same name.

Changes:

City

The tower of the Dust King has undergone significant changes. The settlement has new houses for bandits, a forge for the faction's armour and weapons, and a small bar.

If the Dust King is dead or abducted and Lord Phoenix is alive, the paladins will occupy the Tower.

Lore and dialogue

In the City of Mud, the Dust Bandit Dux is hiding from justice in the swamp. He can help you make an alliance with the faction. But be prepared - the Dust Bandits will only take in egregious scoundrels.

When allied, some Dust Bandit units will follow you for a while.

Squads

Some racial and gender diversity has been added to the bandit squads.

Under the reign of the Dust King, the faction is at the zenith of its power. However, after his DEATH, his army will be severely weakened. The number of warriors in a warband will be much smaller, and camps will disappear altogether.

Weapons and Armour.

Dust Bandits are one of the game's calling cards. So I tried to keep their original look by adding many variations of authentic armour and weapons. Blueprints can be found at the Dust Bandits and in the Black Scratch Library.

(IMPORTANT! These modifications are already included in my mod and do NOT need to be installed)

The mod includes the following types of armour:

Weapons:

Thanks to the authors for their labour!

Thanks for fixing the override.

While in concept a difference between killing and abduction sounds right, it would be a disadvantage for people collecting the bounty of the Dust King. Because this is what I have done, and it seems to count as abduction.
Realistically speaking, it should make no difference if the Dust King is killed by the player or executed after imprisonment by one of the big factions.

Just my 5 cents on the matter. If you don't feel inclined to change the conditions of the override, that's fine too.

taitomagatsu I realized what the reason was. I set the redefinition of the city precisely on the death of the king. I've changed this, now the override will work for abduction as well. But in order for the camps to disappear and the troops to weaken, it will still be necessary to kill the king. I think it's fair

I did check my mods for another one overriding the Dust King Tower. Also in my load order I made sure to load this mod as the very last to make sure no other mod is interfering with the town override. Still no Holy Nation override happened.

taitomagatsu Maybe a mod is interfering with you? Just before I put the mod on steam, I checked it. When the king was kidnapped, the tower was occupied by the holy nation

Great expansion of the Dust Bandits. The new equipment fits their style and feels like it could have been in the vanilla game. The expanded Dust King Tower and the improved stats of the Bandits make them much harder to defeat. Now it makes sense that they are the dominant power in the border zone.

Just the override of the Dust King Tower doesn't seem to work. I imported a save file with the Dust King already dead and the Dust Bandits still occupying the tower. I then raided the Dust King Tower again, and no Dust King could be found inside.
Could you look into the override?

BLACKNOIR it's possible that this is a mod conflict. I have double-checked, the level files are in place, which means that the city changes should be

hey, i do like the concept, but it seems the mod didn't work to my game, even with fresh new start, the tower looks default

Hembrent Hmm. Maybe you're right. When you don't play for a long time, but only create mods, you lose sight of the player's position. In the near future, I will release an update where I will review their characteristics.

This is neat work, but I would strongly suggest dropping them back down a notch. They are amongst the first you'll encounter on a basic fresh run, and they're coming at you with early-midgame stats, and actually pretty solid weapons that are very likely to take a limb. Unless the intention is to literally upgrade them and make them a good bit more difficult faction to face, I'd say they've been greatly overtuned for what they're meant to be—the first shitty bandits you are likely to run into, aside the starving ones.
