TW Millennium: Modern Warfare - Unofficial Elspeth Patch (Submod)

This mod adds support for the Imperial Gunnery School and Amethyst Armory to Elspeth's campaign with the Modern units including 4 Modern Amethyst Units!


Special thanks to the TW Millennium devs for allowing me to use their assets and hard work as a foundation for this and encouraging me to make this happen. Also thanks to Da Modding Den, I don't think y'all answered any of my more technical questions, but y'all were a load-bearing mental health support going through this cursed system and did help with some VFX stuff.


My only real goal in building this was to add some wacky new Amethyst units to the game and add in support for a system which had been (so far) missed by the TW Millennium devs. I think I achieved that, and I don't have any particular plans to add new content, but I will be trying to fix any bugs I missed if they get reported.
Once the devs add official support for the Imperial Gunnery School I'm not sure I'll continue updating this unless there's a lot of support to keep in what I've added.

To any potential modders thinking of messing with the Gunnery School: Don't. This system is cursed. It does not like us. It does not want to be understood. It does not want to be changed.


There are a number of known issues in this mod that I cant solve either because they're baked into this cursed system or because they require scripting and my brain is Too Smooth.

• Some people are experiencing a crash as soon as they try to recruit one of the Amethyst units. I can't replicate this and have no idea why it's happening. There is no known solution. I'm sorry.
  
• The Imperial Gunnery School section for Cavalry still displays the old units, but the buffs do still apply correctly to the Modern units. No idea why this happens, the motorized units used to be like this too and then just stopped being a problem out of nowhere.
  
• Grapeshot still appears for Cannons in the final tier of Cannon upgrades in the Gunnery School. It won't unlock grapeshot for the Modern ones, but it shows up in the Gunnery School.
  
• Upgrade descriptions still reference vanilla units and effects. This mod does in fact update those, but for some reason it doesn't display correctly.
  
• Tier 2 Gunnery School Upgrades are unlocked from the start. I don't know why, I didn't mess with this part of the system, but it's better than the old problem where they'd NEVER unlock so I'm just not going to look too hard at it in case Tzeentch punishes my curiosity by switching it back to never unlocking.
  
• The "More than a Workshop" mission that is supposed to complete when you upgrade the Gunnery School to Tier 2 does not complete at that time. It DOES complete once you finish Tier 3 though. Again, no idea why, this mod doesn't mess with those systems at all.
  
• Artillery crew do not benefit from the exploding bullets buff. Enabling this breaks the artillery entirely so I chose not to give their 9mm sidearms exploding bullets.
  
• Incompatible with Doomon15's Double Unit Sizes mod and probably also other mods that do the same thing. (This only breaks Amethyst unit model counts so if you just want an insane Amethyst experience, go off)
