描述
KEY FEATURE: WORKS FOR BOTH PLAYER AND AI!
This isn't just another player-only mod. ALL AI FACTIONS actively upgrade its armies, creating more challenging and realistic battles with fewer low-tier units cluttering the battlefield. Warriors of Chaos will properly evolve their warbands as they should.




After AI factions finish their turn and the player turn begins, there is a 20–30 second background optimization phase (Collecting data about armies on the map, etc.). It is better not to interrupt this process (do not press End Turn to quickly).




What This Mod Does:
  • Smart Unit Evolution: Upgrade experienced units to their more powerful variants
  • Lore-Friendly Upgrades: Respects Warhammer lore while enhancing gameplay
  • Weapon Variants: Switch between different weapon types (e.g., Longbeards with Shields → Great Weapons)
  • Rank Preservation: Units keep half their experience when upgrading (configurable via MCT)
  • Recruitment Bonuses: Lower rank requirements if you can recruit the target unit locally (-2) or globally (-1)

Enhanced Gameplay Features:
  • Full MCT integration for customization
  • Building requirement checks (optional)
  • Unit cap compatibility (excluding Tabletop Unit Caps mod). During upgrades, AI armies may sometimes receive extra units or lose existing ones. It is recommended not to use these two mods together.
  • Class-based upgrades (infantry stays infantry, with rare exceptions)

  • Universal Script Compatibility: Works with SFO, Radious, and virtually any other mod
  • Warband Upgrade Ultimate: Perfect companion! Use Warband Upgrade Ultimate for its sleek interface while this mod handles AI upgrades automatically.
  • Safe for Existing Saves: Add or remove anytime without issues




Quick Setup Guide For SFO Users

Optimize your experience with these MCT tweaks:
  • Disable "Require Buildings" (SFO building trees differ from vanilla)
  • Disable "Don't Check Unit Caps" (if using SFO unit caps)
  • Set "Upgrade Rank Requirement" to -1 (compensates for slower SFO experience gain)

A: Script conflicts from other mods can cause issues. Test this mod alone first to isolate problems.




Known Issues

Hero Visual Bug: Heroes may show upgrade options that don't actually work (gold still deducted). Fix incoming in future updates.

@☠ Captain Crossheart ☠, I adhered to the idea that upgrades should follow a path where units do not transition from one class to another (with some exceptions), so infantry does not usually transition to missile or cavalry in my mod. However, I will consider the Devotees . Perhaps an exception would be appropriate for them.

@蘇武ぼくよう, For AI? We can remove or reduce the content discount for them, of course. But definitely not in this mode, it has a different purpose.

Is it possible to add an upkeep reduction cap? This would stop factions from stacking so many buffs that their units end up costing nothing, which creates a runaway snowball effect. It's common to see Chaos or Elf factions spamming tons of elite armies with zero upkeep, totally crushing factions that have less upkeep reduction.

I feel like the MCT rank settings aren't working for me. The UI tells me I could improve from level 6, but I'm level 4 and I can (with the required rank set to +2).

@El Cubo, Nothing catastrophic, but some AI armies may lose a few units later on, which isn't very good.
