FEATURES

Welcome Lights
The Aurora will welcome you onboard with soft flow underbody lights when approaching the ship. Upon entering the cockpit, the headlights and strobe lights will automatically switch on, ready for flight.

Automatic Thruster Start/Stop
Upon entering the cockpit of the Aurora, all ion and atmospheric thrusters will fire into life. When leaving the cockpit, they will all shutdown automatically. This feature only activates upon landing, so all thrusters will continue to work whilst the ship is airborne, whether the cockpit is occupied or not.

Retractable Landing Gear
The Aurora comes with retractable landing gear. With the gear down, ground clearance is provided to allow for landings on uneven terrain. When retracted, the landing gear folds away into the body seamlessly. The gear locks to the body of the Aurora when extended and retracted automatically, meaning the ship is always entirely stable despite the sub-grid architecture.

Smart Docking
The Aurora is fitted with a smart docking feature that detects connector usage and configures the ship accordingly. This includes but is not limited to: thruster start/stop, lights on/off and disabling landing gear extension.

Rearview Camera
The rearview camera allows you to quickly check behind at any time. Handy for reversing or when travelling in groups.

Parachute System (Atmosphere Only)
The parachute system on the Aurora gives an extra safety net in the event of thruster damage or an unintentionally fast approach. Parachutes are automatically fed from the onboard cargo, allowing seamless multiple operation.

Hydrogen Assistance
Like the parachute system, the hydrogen thrusters can act as a safety net; providing additional thrust in the event of other thruster damage or an unintentionally fast approach. They are also used as assistance thrusters to help the Aurora overcome the transition between atmosphere and space on some planets.

TUTORIALS
Leaving a Planet for Space
1. Unlock the landing gear from the ground (Toolbar 1 D-Pad DOWN/Keyboard 4) and take-off.
2. Once clear of the ground, begin to fly forwards and pitch the nose up towards the sky as much as possible before the speed starts to drop below 99m/s.
3. As the speed starts to fall, lower the nose of the Aurora to maintain 99m/s, this may be as low as 20 degrees nose up.
4. Monitor the crosshair in the circular trajectory window at the bottom of the screen. If it starts to drop below the centre activate the hydrogen assistance thrusters (Toolbar 2 D-Pad UP/Keyboard 5), this should bring the crosshair back to the centre, helping to maintain the climb.
5. As the speed starts to pick-up again begin to pitch the nose up to maintain 99m/s.
6. At 0.65g the hydrogen assistance thrusters (Toolbar 2 D-Pad UP/Keyboard 5) can be switched off (at empty weight).
7. Once the gravity drops below 0.30g, the Aurora (at empty weight) will be able to exit with the nose pointed directly upwards, continue into space.
