Rescue of Echo Company

An intense survival and mystery scenario for Space Engineers

TLDR

Sent by the Ronin Empire, your mission is simple: rescue Echo Company, a missing military science team whose fate has become a chilling enigma. As the team sent to make a rescue attempt, you've been given a basic frigate with little defense, a drop ship to get down to planets, and a rover for some basic travel. The harsh environment, hostile factions, and ominous signals are all that stand between you and the truth.


This is mainly a roleplay scenario, no objectives or checkpoints are coded into the scenario... yet

Backstory

Echo Company was sent to gather and research a newly re-discovered technology from an unknown faction. Soon after going to a system thought to have a lot of these ancient facilities, they went dark. We received one last distress message, but nothing since.



It took you and your team 2 years to travel to the system to attempt a rescue, but have you made it in time?...



Description

Being a sandbox story, you are free to play as you see fit. Play as you normally would, with a story to follow as you go along. This scenario will not hold your hand, or tell you where to go in a specific amount of time. You are able to build and take your time through the playthrough while also having a goal to reach and a story to follow. Follow the story of the Echo Company mystery, get lost in their story, and fight your way to recovering the technology from this new unknown faction known as "the Factorum".


In this gripping scenario, you’ll start with a functioning frigate (Red Team Frigate), scavenging every scrap of technology and resources to build your way up to a combat-ready ship that can take on the universe. As you explore Echo Company's last known locations, you'll get to know the team sent to investigate the newly rediscovered "Factorum" equipment. Can you figure out what happened to them?


Surviving in this system means mastering the art of engineering, crafting advanced tools, and constructing powerful vehicles—all while battling your way to piecing together what happened to Echo Company. The deeper you dig, the more dangerous the battles become. But the question remains: Was Echo Company simply lost, or is there something far darker at play?

This scenario uses mods from many different creators and could not be possible without them. They are awesome creators, and even if you don't play the scenario, I highly suggest taking a look at their mods for your own game.

I found the error in the game's admin menu, under "Global Permissions." The shooting and damage buttons were disabled.

I'm just assuming someone forgot to turn them back on after completing the scenario. They absolutely have to be enabled, otherwise you can't do anything against NPCs like Reavers.

I'm having the problem that my weapons don't do any damage, and NPC weapons don't seem to do any damage either.

I've also loaded WeaponCore... even though it's not impossible, I can't imagine it causing any problems. I also play on a server that uses WeaponCore, and there are no issues there. My other SP save games with WeaponCore don't cause any problems either.

I've already checked my logs and the game settings, but I can't find any errors.

Hello, i was wondering about the safe zone "glitch" but i seems to not be the only one ^^
I don't know if it was intentional but there is a glitch out trade station (only the safe zone is there, no station in sight) 10-20 km out of the first waypoint in my save so i thought it might have been some scenario shenanigans before coming here for hints to disable the safe zone ^^

Gonna keep an eye out for the fix, this scenario looks promising :)

Sadly those errors are issues within the mods themselves. I am unable to fix those. The original authors of those mods would have to. But i do know those errors do not cause the mods to stop working.

As for the shooting and safe zone issue, i will look and see if i can see the issue with that. was not an issue for me and a few others as of the last update so i will try to mimic it and get a fix for it :)

still can't shoot and it says you can't shoot in a safe zone without being in a safe zone
and the game detects multiple errors with mods
errors list
MOD_ERROR: Unknown mod (1 error Eat. Drink. Sleep. Repeat!)

Yep, it worked! Wish SE would let you actually change the settings. Also, yeah I definitely like the jump drive thing, now I want to like build "modules" for the ship (a hydro powered "landing" one and a jump drive)!

The starter ship is like that by default yes. Just to encourage some exploration and being able to upgrade it as you see fit. so have fun with it :)

As for the progression being turned on, you should be able to go into [Load Game -> Your Save -> advanced -> tick progression off]. That should do it. Of that does not work let me know :)

also pet peeve of mine, progression seems to be on by default, how do I turn that off? When I go to customize it the buttons are greyed out
