NOTE: This is a milestone XP adventure! You will level up only when you explore and enter new locations only! This is a slightly slower leveling system but one that fits perfectly in to this campaign and my philosophy of game design and adventure.

Leveling is faster at lower levels - about one character level per dungeon level until 4. Then it is about once every other level from then.

You have traveled to the capital, Dubh Linn, to stay at the legendary Tavern, The Gaping Maw. So named as it contains a portal to the fabled Undermountain. You are ready to write your own destiny and face the perils beneath.

Venture into the depths of Undermountain, a sprawling dungeon filled with ancient magic, treacherous traps, and secrets buried by time itself. As heroes, you will descend into the heart of the Undermountain, facing harrowing challenges, unraveling ancient mysteries, and confronting powerful guardians bound to the Lich, Bodhmall Blackcloak's will.

But beware — nothing in Undermountain is as it seems. Allies may be foes in disguise, and every shadow could conceal a deadly threat.

Gather your party and venture forth.

- 71 detailed maps
- Multiple different types of environment
- Over 150 detailed interactive dialogs with NPCs
- Backgrounds, races, classes and personality flags also change dialogs options
- Customised monsters, NPCs, and Journals
- Huge volume of optional lore to interact with
- Balanced encounters tested against all builds

- Puzzles and mysteries to solve
- Over 75 hours of play

When you need to update, you should get a notification when loading the save that there has been an update or a version conflict.

1. Click the option "FROM DISK".
2. Do not click "From Save" option.

Thanks very much @john520: That is exactly the feel I was looking for - the experience of risk at low levels you used to get and also the removal of having to fight every single battle just to get XP, just to level up. I absolutely get that my approach turned off a lot of people - but I wanted to do something different for my last designed adventure. 2 years more or less of work. But I enjoyed challenging myself and pushing the dungeon maker to its limits and maybe a bit beyond

Thank you pbalfe for creating such an enjoyable adventure! I admit I was a little skeptical about the milestone leveling at first, but stuck with it , and am now a convert. I found I focused more on the adventure and less on xp grinding to level up. The first few levels were tough and reminded me a lot of my days playing AD&D (sleep spell is a must !). Really blown away realizing how much time you must have put into this. Hopefully Solasta 2 has a dungeon maker feature as well, and you consider continuing to create adventures in the world of Eiru- cheers !

@AnotherEve Totally understand, being level 1 for an extended period isn’t everyone’s cup of tea! I deliberately designed it that way because I wanted players to feel that early struggle and sense of vulnerability before progressing. It’s a slower start by choice, to give level 1 some real weight and encourage exploration, caution, and creativity rather than rushing through. But I absolutely get that it can feel punishing compared to most campaigns. Thanks again for trying it out and for the feedback — I really appreciate you giving it a go.

It is a huge map to explore for level one. I think I will try it another day, maybe I should take this as a challenge rather than a relaxation.:winter2019happygingerbread:

@AnotherEve: Sorry you found it too hard. Not every game is for everyone. A solid team, scouting and preparation helps a lot. Also - you can side with various groups that means you don't have to kill everything. But you are delving in to a magical dungeon that is filled with dangers. It is not mean to be an easy campaign, especially at lower levels. Thanks for giving it a go

So I have to kill a lot of goblins, shadows, skeletons, and bandits at level 1? It is just too hard to achieve.
